In another thread "legalizing killing" I mentioned the story of this miraculous woman. The following is her Biography.
The picture you are viewing is that of Gianna Jessen. Gianna Jessen's Biography: Gianna is a Christian. Her life was given to her by the grace of God. She shouldn't be walking, but more miraculous still; she should not even be alive. Gianna's biological mother was 17 when she had a saline abortion in her third trimester. After being burned alive for approximately 18 hours in the womb from the saline solution, Gianna was delivered alive in a Los Angeles County abortion clinic. Her medical records state, "born during saline abortion"...this is what caused her Cerebral Palsy. Gianna Jessen does not quit. Giving up is not an option to her. Gianna has what she refers to as the "gift" of Cerebral Palsy. She weighed a mere 2 lbs at birth and the doctors said she would never be able to hold up her head, sit up, crawl or walk. She began to walk by the age of three years old with the help of leg braces and a walker. Gianna doesn’t believe that her Cerebral Palsy takes away her life, but, rather, enriches it. . . she walks with a slight limp today and runs marathons. On April 30, 2005 she completed her first 26.2 mile marathon after running just over 7 hours and was presented with the coveted blank blank award! On April 23, 2006 she completed the London Marathon as well. She is now determined to run marathons all over the place, because she was never supposed to even walk! Gianna understands the plight of orphans, being one herself. She was placed into the foster care system early on in life, eventually being taken into the loving home of a woman named Penny. Penny has been a mother to 56 foster children in her life. Gianna was later adopted by Penny's daughter, making Penny Gianna's grandmother. According to Gianna, Penny saved her life. Gianna's travels and experiences have led her all over the world. Her life has been covered by many major news media outlets, including, most recently, the BBC News and World Radio, Sky News, and The Good Morning Show in England, reaching many people with a message of hope and conviction. In November 2005, Gianna spoke in several colleges all over Ireland and in December of the same year, spoke at a meeting held at the House of Commons in London. She has returned to England this year to speak in several parochial and public high schools. Gianna’s audiences include: churches - church youth crusades and women’s ministry retreats; various corporations as a motivational speaker; secular and Christian youth organizations and schools – middle school age through college, as well as several times before Congress - most recently having her testimony read before the Supreme Court in Carhart v. Flights
* We need two airline tickets (round trip from Nashville, or connecting from another place) We need the tickets to be booked under Gianna Jessen and Michael Longenecker unless told otherwise. * Each sponsor is responsible for arranging airfare. We are not responsible for arranging airfare. * We prefer window seats. We travel all the time and do not need to sit together. * For an evening event we will fly in the same day and we need to arrive around 2pm or 3pm in the afternoon. * For a morning or afternoon event we will generally come in the night before. * Please email us the itineraries for approval before ticketing to: bookings@giannajessen.com. This is necessary because sometimes we are not flying directly from Nashville, but from another event. Hotels * Very Important! Giving your credit card over the phone to the hotel does not purchase the rooms. It reserves the rooms only. You need to give permission to the hotel staff to charge the rooms to a particular credit card prior to our arrival. Otherwise we cannot check in. Something you left out from Gianna's website: Requirements/Sound checks /Why I Sing * Please provide the sound requirements requested. Even if they may seem unimportant, a horrible sound system makes an event sound horrible! The requirements are quite simple and they are as follows: | * A person to run the sound ( that actually runs sound) * Mixing board * Michael plays the guitar and piano very well. If possible, please provide a well tuned, mic'd piano. If this is not possible, he'll play the guitar. * Guitar requirements: direct box, guitar stand, instrument cable * Two monitors, as these help us to hear ourselves * Two vocal mics ( we both sing, they don't need to be cordless ) one boom stand and one straight stand * One stool for Michael ( Gianna doesn't prefer one ) * Our sound check is a maximum of 15 minutes if the sound is set up. The time we do the sound check will vary ( usually not long before the people are seated ) * Music is a vital part of " the story ", often, music helps people who are not receptive to certain subjects become so after hearing some music. A Little About the Presentation Itself..... * We sing three songs at the beginning, three minutes or less in length * Gianna speaks for about 30 minutes after the music. Included in that time is an appeal if they are participating in a fundraiser. ( you usually receive more money at a fundraiser allowing the speaker to do the appeal ) * The whole presentation is approximately 45 minutes. ( sometimes less, never more ) * We would appreciate it if none of Gianna's story is used to introduce her. Using what Mother Teresa said about Gianna is usually a suitable introduction and can be found on this site. fanta: This is standard for anyone who tours on a small scale, keeping costs down. It cannot be done for free, they do have to make a living you know. I am not going to go into anymore. Obviously Michael is her musical accompaniest. Abortions aren't legal in the third trimester. Well, partial birth abortion is illegal also, yet these things, sadly are still done.  Some people do not care what the law says. That is why jails are overcrowded. Lindyy

well if she had been properly aborted she'd be dead, instead of suffering and struggling with her life...the abortion was botched up by some quack doctor. Yet another tragic case of medical malpractice.

Yet another tragic case of medical malpractice. No Symbelmyne. You did not read her biography very well. She runs marathons! She sings and speaks all over the world. She is beautiful!. You would not believe the e-mails I got from some of the most gorgeous men in their late 30's to mid 40's. Had to take down her picture, they thought she was me. They were in love with her picture! I have heard her speak. She is the most beautiful person inside and outside. Her attitude toward life is spectacular. But, it all goes to show how wonderful God is and how He can turn something horrid into one of the most beautiful things on earth.  Lindy
