I install registry cleaner and advanced system optimizer, but the computer was acting this way even before I installed them. I haven't even download my yahoo IM yet. this is still pretty much blank. the fonts etc and the slow running happened as soon as I downloaded XP. so that is why I think it's the XP. I got more memory etc. the computer ran fine with 2000 But its running Microsoft "basic" drivers, and unless you fix that, 2000 will run the same way. Did you get a drivers CD with your computer? OR Do you know the make & model of your motherboard? |

wiley...you, me..start our own commune lol. we can repair computer all day lol. I'm learning more than I ever wanted to learn now lol I probably would have had it fixed by now.

I have the orginal cd that is for drivers & utilities...it says for reinstalling V.9X (capable)/56K data/faxmodem software for microsoft windows. is that what you mea wyatt??? i'm sure i can crack open the puter box and get the info on the mother board. I think the processor isn't running right because of too much data on XP. It's an older model Dell computer BTW....bite me wiley lol |

Don't forget Wyatt, Win2K has a better set of base generic drivers that are more widely compatible than those included with XP....especially XP w/SP2..... |

If you have at least 1 Gig you should be more than fine. I think min is 256 Megs though.
