how long did it last and why did things go wrong?

I met and married a young soldier my age in 1982, and we married 7
months later. Big Catholic wedding where the Irish girl married the
perfect Italian boy. We were married 10 years.

A year and a half after the wedding, we got stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC
where he aced Special Forces (Green Beret) training. He told me not to
work while he traveled half of each year to Central and South America.

Along with the "super-sized" ego he was issued upon graduation from
Green Beret training, he must have been issued the license to do
whatever the hell he wanted when he was out of country. One surprise
flight to Bolivia brought everything into perspective for me. I walked
up on him and his girlfriend, an American secretary in the US Embassy ~
and he wasn't wearing his wedding ring.

The video tape I took aced my divorce; but in all honesty, there are
times I wish I'd never known. That was the day I realized there was no
"Happily Ever After"...

i know some folks who've been married 50, 60 years and are loving it.

longest relationship i've had is 5 years.
when we broke up, we'd just grown apart, maybe our needs had changed?

the year after that was a little rough, because after a long
relationship, it just feels like something is missing when the person
isn't around anymore...

Longest relationship was 6 years. Long story... Sometimes not even time
can make things better.

13 years

3 years we were doing to much partying and thing got out of control.

20 years and still going, albeit a bit rocky at times.

21 years together, 19 of the married. Knock on wood.

Back in 1987 when I dated a girl though a mutual friend ( his girl
friend's sister) We dated for a bout a year and a half be fore we got
engaged. We were engaged until about 1990. We kind of broke it off due
to stress on both of us, I was between jobs and she was just starting
her's. So then came the arguing and missunderstanding then it just died.
I was kind of half glade and kinda of not.
So I dated another person for a little while then that went no were. So
that's it. I never looked back.

Probably I should have cause did I get screwed. LOL

almost 8 years together.

6 months I got pregnant he started being an ass and left. His lose he
doesnt even know if i had a boy or girl. He's the one missin out

neither of my children see there mother that much anymore because she
took off and ran too. I think the last time she visited is going to be
the last cause I am puting my foot down and insisting she follow the
courts rules about two weeks notice to me and only in public for an hour
or so at a time. She is not going to want to come up from florida to
michigan under those curcumstances. Especially knowing I will not allow
her in my house again, so she has to get a hotel.

That is thier lose eh daniel. very sad I grew up with just my mom my dad
was never around, but I had my mom and your childern have you and they
are very lucky.

4 yrs,,three as a couple one as best friends

3 yrs and her name was jasmine we started dating young (7th grade) and
about that age i was caught up in stupid sh^% one year we spent together
and the rest we spent through a foot of plate glass between us. my only
regret is not telling her how much i loved her

7 years He drank to much got tired of putting him to bed every night.

11 years... wanted a partner not a father.

10 years. I wouldnt come to know Jesus as my savior, so I was told to
leave until I found him. I hear he used to live in LA, but, there are so
many Jesus' in the phone book, I dunno where to begin. Anyone last see
him?
