If what men want is an independent woman then there is no wonder that I am single..Because I am looking..or I WAS looking for a guy that didn't mind if his gf/wife couldn't work..and apparently thats a big thing now. some guys actually want that..someone told me today that I should act less independent around guys. I personally can't do it, but it shows that there are some that like their women a little more dependent. Well..I don't know where those kinds of guys are..cuz every guy I meet asks me WHERE do I work..Not IF I can work..they just assume that just because other women work then I can too. |

This is a great topic, it has puzzled me for some time now. My ex bf liked the fact that I am fairly independent and know how to fix things around my house. Then he got mad and said I was too independent! He told me guys need to feel wanted and needed, I asked why should I bother someone if I am capable of fixing something small myself? I wish I knew what the "happy medium" was.

I just remodeled my whole house...and the building that my business is in....I have recently demolished a bathroom repaired a water line..replaced everything including durrock....drywalled, sanded, tiled..I do weed eat and I have changed out the serpentine belt in my car a couple times....I also paint....do some electrical work..I live at Lowes...guess Im a dyke too....any females available... I should change my heading to...Im trapped in a self sufficient body....and mind:)

Then he got mad and said I was too independent! He told me guys need to feel wanted and needed, I asked why should I bother someone if I am capable of fixing something small myself? I wish I knew what the "happy medium" was. I don't think there is one. I just can't bring myself to pretend incompetence so a guy won't have his ego shattered. It's all so unneccesary. |
