I read the thread and the question and I have had this same experience. The things that attracted my husband to me were the very things he tried to change after we were married. It is insecurity or the need for power and control. It is the age old power struggle between men and women.

It goes both ways. Women do it to men too. They get married and suddenly they start trying to make changes in the other person.

Not a good idea. Both people should be themselves, and don't pretend to be someone you are not, and both should say "take me as I am or there is the door."

Stop the power struggle and the games and ask yourself if you are staying on track with your life's purpose. If you are not, perhaps it is the battle for the control of your life that you are engaged in with your mate.
