They sweet talk us, they sound like their the perfect guy, even though there is a distance problem. You can't seem to get enough of each other even though all of its been on the phone and he's willing to come down and visit and relocate possibly Everything seems wonderful, then he stops calling, and texting, even emailing. When confronted, he's not man enough to talk to me about it. I assume he was working more than one woman and he met one this weekend, and thats all she wrote. I wish he had the cohonies to tell me why and the truth.
Then Men wonder why we have trust issues. I'd figure at this stage of my life, the Men who gameplay had grown up.

Any comments, thanks!

Ya .. it's called fear of committment and guys tend to get smitten real bad laugh laugh laugh laugh

I like Virgin have met a lot of men .. well actually 6 is not a lot. I've met over 80+ guys from online sites in person. I've only had a couple get cold feet. No biggie .. their loss.

My mother a woman wise beyond her years once told me...

"There is no such thing as a man, there are only different stages of boys, if you treat them as such, you will never hate them."

I have 3 brothers whom I love very much, and even though they are wonderful (well 2 of the 3) tis true....drinker

The hell with it. I'll go in a few minutes late today. My work will still be there.

First, how come it is always why do MEN do this to us? Do you seriously believe there are not plenty of women who lie and/or engage in deceptive and manipulative behavior?

If we are simply dating people near by is it allowable for us to be dating more than one at a time? I understand that once dating turns into something more serious then monagamy is an important issue, but seriously because we exchange e-mails and phone calls does this mean we are till death do us part?

The main problem I see here is possible deceptive behavior on his part. I cannot speak for anyone else, but I am totally up front about whether or not I'm communicating with other members and the nature of the communication. He should have let you know or pehaps you should have asked. In either case, you are undoubtedly better off that he made his choice not in favor of you. What he did was wrong, but please do not stereotype men, and also let's try and stay real here!!

It's early still but I cannot help but comment on this post (mind you just read the op's post not any responses)

How do you react when confronted? Because you want the answer to a question and he feels no need to respond, why is that such a big deal? Why does the imagination run wild when we face the unknown? It's either another woman, or a lack of this, or too little of that, too much of another. Things just dont always work out. You're a beautiful intelligent woman, brush it off and go on. JMO You're wasting too much time and energy on this situation which you truly cannot and do not control.

Once we (as a people) begin to take responsibility for our own actions, will we be better suited to understand and know why others do what they do.

Nice quote from your mom girlfriend  Of course we always refer to their 'stuff' as toys for different stages, but I like what she says. Keeps our perspective straight

HERE is the catch phrase dearest ....

I've found that guys that move tooooooo fast and talk relocation and all that BS, are just that - BS'ers. I don't allow a conversation & ONLINE relationship go too far anymore until we MEET. Period. No exceptions. EVAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Bottom line is to remember 3 words every single time you are getting to know a guy online before meeting in person ... let's all say it together now ...........

((((((((((((((((((( IT'S THE INTERNET!!!!! ))))))))))))))))))))))

Why do US guys do this? Two reasons. First, we have this insatiable desire for women. And second.....we just suck.laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Seriously, to answer this question, it can be many reasons, none of which are valid or even remotely sane. You can go with the guys who want there cake and eat it too. Or, when some guys date and are not committed to one woman, they play the field, and get with any woman they can. Some guys are driven by sex, and can only think about getting it and will do whatever it takes to achieve it. Yes, they will even go through playing the sweet guy role cause they feel it will get them into a woman's pants (and in most cases this works, so you can see why men do it). Now, he could have been into you, and as you stated, he could have been talking to another woman as well and wanted to see who he was more compatible with. I won't say there is anything wrong with this, but he should have manned up and been honest with you. But again, people (men and women) have this problem with being upfront and honest. Not all people, but alot do.

Anyways, sorry you had to experience this. But hey, one way to look at it is that you now know he was not for you. Better to find out now than later when you are six months into the relationship and he cheats on ya.
