you are the first to mention copyright

that is just one example

it happens all the time

like your post just now tell me about how to post here

laugh i was referring to people arguing on Mike's thread...i certainly wasn't the one that mentioned it there 1st and i ONLY mentioned it saying copyright or not....it's the site's rules

i'm not sure what you are asking about posting here. from the way i understood the rules is what dragoness has been doing...posting part and then the link. personally...me myself and i...would like the article sumarized in the OP's own words with the link attached. in debate i believe in using links to site the arguements. i prefer this because i don't have a lot of faith in the media because for every article one find...you can find an article for the other side.

I see no arguing on Mikes thread. I just looked again, nope!
Just debate on what exactly is the law.

i prefer this because i don't have a lot of faith in the media because for every article one find...you can find an article for the other side.

If you dont have faith in an AP article then how can you have faith in anyone's opinion? Aren't most peoples opinion based on what they read, and then complicated by their comprehension of what they read, or were retold?
Did you ever do the experiment in school where you whisper something in one person's ear and then they do the same. After going around the class the last person repeats what is said. Almost always it is changed to the point of nonrecognition from the original statement.

The AP is a very reputable source. They face liable lawsuits for articles. They can be sued for defamation etc.

I would much rather, and I would be much more comfortable with the truth after reading what they wrote, than hearing it from someone who heard it from so and so, who heard it from so and so, and so and so and so and so..........

If you cant believe an AP report when you read it for yourself. I find it hard to believe you trust the validity of what you hear or read from your friends opinions!

my point is why even say anything...if it's the site's rules...then so be it.

i think its because as "americans" we feel we have the "right" to argue even a mute point.grumble

the point of this thread is

it is up to the site to police the threads
in the threads

let them do it

that is why there is a report button

if you want to keep someone from getting a negative action post the rule once as a help to them

no need to say bla bla bla

that is the sites job

1) Do not attack/slam/insult others. You can discuss the message or topic, but not the messenger - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, YOU will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself, defending a friend, etc. are NOT excuses. Violations of this rule are taken very seriously and may result in being banned without warning!

----------------

how some one posts is not permitted for discussion unless it is the topic of the thread

that is an attack on the poster

per rule number one

That's what I was thinking.drinker
Why nose in unless you have an ulterior motive, or are just a busy-body!
Especially, if you never post anything pertaining to that forum other than to complain about a perceived violation to the rules!

Reminds me of the silencing Russia did to its many critics! Let's just look for any minute detail that may shut-up the user (opposing views). Even when it applies to a standard practice that has been on said site (JSH) ever since Ive been here.

I ask myself, why now?, why this particular thread and no others?
Discrimination????

sorry but i don't see posting the rule as an attack. i know for FACT lilth would have posted a rule to me if i broke the rules. it was to point out the rule and not an attack. either read and follow the rules or don't but why can one complain when they get in trouble for it or it's pointed out. she didn't call names or belittle.

this site is a service provided by someone one else for others to enjoy, they (the owners) get to decide on the rules and regulations and who gets to play and who doesnt..its pretty cut and dry...

exactly

and that is what i said from post one in this thread

-------------------------post 1

so many think they have to tell others how to post or not to post

i can understand a quick yer not supposed to do that with the rule posted and leaving it go at that (to help keep them from negative action)[this is to help not criticize]

but is it not up to the moderators to go any further after all that is why there is a report button

after all is it not a personal attack if you post about how someone posts something it is not on topic and is aimed at the poster

i have been reading some threads and it is sad it has gotten to this point
