Americans are more dissatisfied with the country’s direction than at any time since the New York Times/CBS News poll began asking about the subject in the early 1990s, according to the latest poll.

guess, i'm just not in favor of the One world order--that some are talking about. I know their are thousands and thousands of Freemason's out there. I am just a Christain; I believe in the Gospel of Christ only.

Okkayy 62easy.....

So what do the Freemasons have to do with this? Good on you for the whole Christian, Gospel of Christ thing and all, but I fail to see the link between 81% opinion, Freemasons and your religious beliefs.

Please note - this is not any form of knock on your beliefs, so please stay off that track.

It's been on that course since FDR. The door was open to all out of control, ever expanding federal government with his New Deal. Many have tried to shut the door, but the problem is, someone lost the key to lock it and again and again the big government opens the door.

There we agree starsailor I say less government, less nuclear missles, less aircraft carriers, less offensive weapons in general. Lets stop all this corperate welfare and use our tax money for defence only not offence, and take care of our own nation and rebuild it so we can compete in this world and not be reduced to the worlds largest bannana republic as seems to be trend under a republican government

You might be on to something here. Many thought that Neville Chamberlain was on the right track with that cranky guy arming Germany to the teeth back in the mid-thirties when he suggested that Hitler would provide "peace for our time." Chamberlain was wrong. Many also thought that Reagan would take us to war with the USSR--he didn't. Many thought that we should stay out of WWII and one can't help but think that if we had gotten involved when Churchill all but begged us to, countless lives might have been saved and a few less concentration camps might have been built.

History is best judged as history. It takes time and distance from the issue to "see" the entire picture. I'm not suggesting here in any way that everything that has happened in Iraq has been positive and we don't know yet what that region will look like ten years from now. But just because something isn't popular doesn't mean it is wrong.

Let's not forget that there was also a time when 81% or more of people thought that man would never walk on the moon, that a black man was inferior to a white man and that there was nothing wrong with segregated drinking fountains.

Madisonflowerforyou Drews logic there is kind of the same logic baby shrub was using on us, "I know better than you what should be done, therefore question me not, for I will still do it anyway", or how about this one, " the sheep do not need to know, they just need to follow", or how about this one, "ignorance is bliss". LOL Just trust that he knows better than us and we shall have no problems, why do you balk at that???? LOLflowerforyou

I tend to agree with drew. I remember when JFK made the man to the moon speech, and the media laughed at heim, and when Reagan brought up the missile defense idea. The Liberals derided
the idea as assinine. Yet, here we are reading about it in history, in the former case, and it is a high point in history. And in the latter case, what ahappened a few weeks ago? A satellite was shot to pieces by the Reagan "Star Wars" effort before it re-entered and possibly spread a toxic achemical over an area of the planet. (Oh, and by the way, Reagan was a republican, if you did not know that). And, Al Gore invented the internet, , Hillary wants to garnish everyones paycheck to pay for health care, Obama and other liberals want to disable the military, and possibly disband it. Yes, 81% (in this poll) disagree with the way the country is headed, ostensibly because of a republican pres. However, in a poll a month ago, congress had a single digit performance rating, and it is controlled by democrats, 25% lower than the pres. rating. If I took a poll, I could prove anything I wanted by "selecting" the proper category of ppl to poll. Polls and studies are simply written and analyzed to "prove" the viewpoint that I want to reinforce.
