What Came Over Me???

When my heart was shattered
And I became a broken man,
From the one true love
That didn't seem to understand.
Not a word, nor even a reply
Made this grown man even cry.
From whence the time came
While in my sullen mood,
I was going to abandon my friends
Like stale thrown out food.
What came over me
When I was in my time of need?
The ones that gave me courage
Upon which I needed to feed.
Friends stood by me faithfully
Gave me the will to stay,
What came over me
When I decided to stray?
No one can describe the pain
That I felt within,
But now, with strength of my friends
It is time to begin.
To find those words, that I write
That are written with my hand,
It is now the time, for me to say
I am about to take my stand.
