just read a caption in my magazine...in men overheard in conversations...one guy said quote "If i was a woman, i'd train my boobs to carry pints"
I can do that with the correct bra... ok without one too... Are you seeing someone

ok....JMO i understand hiker pointing out the irony of it in this case. i have no problem with that my problem is seeing numerous threads and posts using spelling or grammar corrections like we are in HS. there could be many reasons....typos, the education wasn't as good as others, lack of sleep, things on the mind....none of these means someone has a low IQ. I have seen it is done a lot to belittle people and make fun of them. Einstein was called an idiot and stupid...he was a genius. I make spelling and grammar errors all the time but I'm not stupid by any means (FYI not saying anyone is trying to say that but some are). I know very smart people with extremely high IQS that have no common sense at all. some with a lot of common sense with little "book smarts" 
this is just my 2 cents. "only people who think I am right may post". - hikerchick ( i think that is funny and i want to use it)

I'm trying to teach lilth to speak redneck and I'm gonna start typing texan

I used to try for perfect spelling & grammer, & after 5 edits the whole thread had moved past that point & it was all wasted . I just try to get my idea down quickly now , before the thread dies. I have terrible computer skills, but I am learning slowly as I go.
I am disturbed that I see myself typing errors I would never write. I never confuse the use of an apostrophe on paper, but have done it here several times. Is it a case on fingers going faster than brain? The computer culture seems to be changing our language use. It's all about speed. I give people the benifit of the doubt. If I can't understand the post because of typos, I simply ask for them to re word it. I have noticed people often resort to picking on your grammer & typos when their argument grows weak. |

sometimes i see my own typos and grammar after and think....oh well they got the idea lol. but i know (and most do) that i don't sleep well so i do get tired and my fingers go crazy....i still have a high IQ for a redneck

I would never have picked on her language skills if she hadn't been complaining about other people- innocent people who did nothing to her. I just had to point out the irony of someone complaining about other people not using the language when they don't know how to use it themselves. I thought it was funny. None of my posts are gramatically perfect. I am not talking about perfect, but at least have the topic spelled correctly. If you are going to complain about language, learn how to spell it. |
