Last night I started a discussion that turned into hell. The whole discussion turned into more of a lets "bash" the girl then a normal discussion. I was called names and treated like dirt. Now I haven't been here that long but I have never been treated like that. I now feel very uncomfortable about what I say in fear I might be bashed for my thoughts. I just felt I had to write this so I can forgive and forget and possibly move on. I do want to thank those that did come to my defense. For those of you who felt like you had to to belittle me like that, I feel bad for you, you are not very nice people and I hope you take some time and think about what you said and how bad you made me feel.

I didn't have a problem with the topic even if I didn't agree with your opinions. but insults and belitlling are uncalled for and happens alot online and off

It happens. If you put yourself out there, others will disagree and some might not be so nice.
Why would you let a stranger have the power to hurt your feelings? Are the people who insulted you your friends? Not trying to belittle how you might feel, but you need to put it in perspective.

We all say things from time to time that we don't really mean or comes across in a way that we didn't intend. I'm sure that everyone would agree. From my experience, the people here are great and are the sole reason I keep coming back day after day.
Sorry that you had a negative experience but I'm sure that we can all forgive and forget...

You should see me in the Current news forum, always someone there that thinks because I have certain opinions that I am less of a person...meh, forget them, you don't have to deal with them everyday and if everyday they leave some stupid comment on one of your posts ignore them.

I call them as I see them. Did I find humor in the fact that you were complaining that people should use the English language when your own skills are marginal at best? Yes.
Did I call you names and make fun of you? No. In fact, I was one of the people who called out the name-caller. Just because I don't agree with your point of view does not give me the right to call you mean names. |

I personally think that those who call others name need to be banned. I thought we were all friends here. Its O K to disagrre with someone but it is NEVER o k to belittle them!!! I hope u will not let this affect u too much as there are some VERY fine people on here!!!

I thought some were my friends, I did put myself out there and I quess it was a sensitive subject, but there was no reason for the way I was treated. Sometimes there is, sometimes not. The point is that you cannot know what they were thinking anymore than they could with you. It is very had at times to know what a person's true motives or intent is, because... frankly all of us don't usually explain clearly. We infer what is in a statement, sometimes we are very wrong. Sometimes? We are right. It is very subjective. If I recall correctly, you took a statement I made yesterday way off the intended mark and got upset about it. It happens and is it not usually intentional. For those times it is? Let it roll off your back. |

Honey, I like you, your an intelligent woman, and the name calling was certainly uncalled for, but look at what you said from an outsiders point of view.... Most of the people (not all) were trying to give you another point of view to see the situation from. Yes some were rude about it, but mostly they disagreed with what you said and told you that they did, and told you why they did..... If all you saw was the bashing of you (and again I agree there was some of that) then you really lost some valuable information.

There is nothing wrong with my grammar or my english as I said last night they were typos. And please lets not go back to what the discussion was about or start bashing my "gramar" I did not see that the poster was trying to do that. She simply stated her views. She is not arguing with you. |

Dude I went in there one time - one time - and that was enough for me. Those people are harsh; plus, they have no interest in anything you have to say if they don't agree. A tough crowd. The people in the poetry forum are really nice. You can post drivel - I know, I have - and they will give you a flower and say "nice write!" "interesting". It's my happy place. |
