Is it me, or do I expect people to "read" people better?

I have only be bamboozled once in my life when it came to the judgement of people, and I can still look back and see where I made my error in judgement with that person.

Maybe it's why I'm not "nice" I see people for what they are, and the ones who pass, get my full loyalty, the ones that don't.... go to the curb.. I am more intuned to peoples actions and manurisms than the aimless words that come from their mouths.

any thoughts on this?

Someone told me I was "Highly Empathic" Im not to sure about that)...but I like to study Human reactions and behavior


Reading people is not always easy, not to everyone at least ^^

Lily, I think this is sort of an instinct we are born with, but we bury it with expectations & stereotypes. I don't think mine is sharp In hindsight, I always see that there were "signals" that I should have picked up on, but I am not sure why I ignored them. Maybe I have been trained to give some people the benifit of the doubt & distrust others?

well you don't get see people manurisms here...........so do you really know if they are just pulling your chain or being serious..............Some of us just like too have fun when out here, life does not need to be serious 24/7

I personally do not judge people I leave that to a higher power. I believe in live and let live. If I do not like what someone has posted guess what I have the mouse to change threads.

I think it's second nature, I can look at someone and within 10 minutes pin point them to a T.

My first thought is that you should consider spell check.....lol.

Seriously, having only been wrong once in your life is no reason not to be "nice" to people. The person(s) you are not nice to may be in the same category as that one person.

It's just not (in my opinion) fair to make a snap judgment on a person and leave it at that. You never know what tragedy they had to deal with the day that you saw them.

I'm talking moreso in real life than on the internet, because I agree, it is hard sometimes to "read" people who arn't infront of you, but some I can, by the words that they use to express themselves.

It would be intersting to see someone do that to me ^^

I can pin point someone and i'm usually right. I try not to judge them by that because I could be wrong about my gut feeling. If I am wrong..then I could be missing out on getting to know a great person. My instincts and gut feeling stay in the back of my head to only give me a heads up.

I am cordial to everyone, until they give me reason not to be, but nice... invite them into my home ect ect... no, I'm not nice in that manner.

I can tell the difference between someone who has had a "bad" day and someone whom is just not a good person... I can make exceptions for people who have bad days.... I'm talking about the ones who you look into their eyes and see either nothing, or things you just don't want to see.

lily...i'm like that too. I think we are all born with that...some people have just developed it more than others. I personally learned to depend on it when i was young...but I know I pick up peoples "vibes" easily and if something makes me really uncomfortable....right to the curb they go. I've had enough "bad seeds" in my life.

I agree you can't do it on the internet though...more of a face to face thing.

My biggest fear about dating is that I'll fall under that spell of seeing only what I want to see. I think it's happened to all of us at some point...we let the fantasy of a thing spin dreamy little clouds, blocking the true colors of the sky right over our heads.

My friend called me up last week and told me how her bf, (she lived with him) cheated and had been for almost 2 years, I offered her anything in my power to do for her.

I had only met him a handful of times, and not once did he strike me as a "good" person. I could see his eyes, and I didn't like it, but she was happy, so I didn't question it much. I had been in their home, broken bread with them, so I always showed him respect. I just kept him at arms length.

She called me today to tell me how happy she was that they were getting back together. I just had to say "well if that makes you happy, I'm happy for you."
