I challenge anyone to go look for statistics regarding Criminal Activities commited under the influence of Marijuana. Not including activities being charged with possesion, smoking, growing, or dealing.... (If marijuana were legal would not be issue)

I would really like to see this. I looked and had a difficult time finding anything.

I cannot prove this to you...cuz we never got caught. But there was plenty of illegal activities while entoxicated on pot. Wrecks, thefts, vandalizing, fights. Go to a few meetings where the people are not there trying to escape jail. You will not get too many truths from them, but from others with nothing to gain....you will hear all kinds of horror stories.

Kat

OK but please statistics? I am truly curious

I believe that legalization and APPLICATION of Medicinal Marijuana is a great step in proving and disproving most common myths. Lets face it Smoking Pot is medicinally helpful to patients in need. I have seen this personally. The last thing my friend wanted to do was turn to smoking marijuana to help the constant vomiting, severe lack of appetite, going from 125 to 103...but she had no other option. Today she is 100% better BECAUSE of smoking.

I believe like anything else, marijuana feasibly could be a gateway drug to something worse. I also know of someone else that will most likely gateway from marijuana, simply because I can see escapism from his problems.

Just like tobacco and alcohol or any drug (prescription or non) there is always going to be someone to misuse and abuse. But the benefits far outweigh the bad.

Yes I agree it is horrifying Dragoness.  But wouldnt the best way to help them is to first try to put all resources into preventing and trying to find a cure at home? Then helping them with what we find?

I have always understood the gravity of this illness as I know people afflicted with it. I also have great sympathy and empathy for those affected/afflicted with it in Africa. flowers

That being said. I have issue with focus and funding of HIV/AIDS in Africa being so great. shocked In the US we continue to cut funding every year for programs that can help people with HIV and HIV research. And statistics are growing each year of new infections. What happened to the theory of getting your own house in order before you reach out to others on a massive scale? Especially with the economic status of our country. slaphead

Communication.... And listening not just hearing. Tell your mate what is lacking or making you unhappy. Work thru, and compromise or end the relationship!

"I do have issue with someone trying to vehemently warn others of an issue that we all would not have necessarily known about, and people saying "I dont think the sky is falling" "or nothing to panic about". "
Who said the sky was falling, who said we should panic?

You dont have to be on the forums daily or be a brain scientist to respect the opinions and warnings of others without "trying" to make them look like they "their sky is falling".

In my opinion you have made your point. But berating someone elses views and beliefs by saying such things is simply not right.

I personally, am done debating this issue with you. My point has been made.

"...but I will do research on all sides instead of trusting an email. i don't think the sky is falling nor do i think it's all rainbows and sunshine either. and I do know people that this would effect and would fight against it...but i so far have seen nothing to panic about

Im so glad that you will do research on all sides.

"I personally believe that if there is a doubt and lots of documentation to cause concern from "the people",I tend to side with the people. Because WE are the ones that have to live with benefits or consequences."

think You keep making the point to quote my statements...ok. Sorry Rose but you are the only one using "blindly trusting". frustrated I never did, nor implied it. slaphead I implied reading the bill itself doesn't make it fact. Especially when you consider the source. ESPECIALLY when their is lots of documentation to show a fear.

Yes the bill "says" certain things, but when people who are directly involved with the situation start being concerned then I have true issues with "trusting" the bill.

When in doubt...throw it out!surprised

No problem Rapunzel. winking Everyone has their rights to their beliefs. flowers I personally believe that if there is a doubt and lots of documentation shocked to cause concern from "the people",I tend to side with the people. Because WE are the ones that have to live with benefits or consequences. noway And unfortunately, there has been many in the past. (ie, the bail out of AIG and the banks) Hope they enjoyed their bonuses at our expense! pitchfork In that vein, I understand the reading between the lines. grumble Whenever there is a doubt, throw the bill out!
