Yep, you're right, I've seen it happen before to a guy friend of mine, he married her. To make matters worse, he was overseas when she emotionally blackmailed him :/

By time he returned, his bank account was cleaned out, he found out she was cheating on him the whole time, she was gone, and left divorce papers for him to sign.
