There comes a time when you need to say what needs to be said in order to get folks off their butts. It doesn't mean you are prepare to carry out the threat. Trump doesn't want to pull America out of NATO or dismantle NATO. NATO is being asked to pay your dues and stopped relying on the US to carry NATO's weight exclusively or don't expect US help. That's is the reason 45th pulled America out of the Paris Agreement. The only nation paying fees was America. The organisation was not benefiting America in any way.
Of course Biden reverse the process and the environmentalists were all so happy to spend US taxpayers monies once again. And that's why Europe and anyone else can get monies out of the Democrats so easily because the party thrives on emotions and not logic. Anything else the media is proclaiming about US encouraging Russia to invade Europe is reckless reporting. And what is NATO doing now? Running around holding meetings trying to come up with strategies on how best to war without America help. That is the mindset that was needed from the outset. That's not how NATO works. Member countries don't pay into NATO like a country club. They merely pledge to spend 2% of their GDP on defense, and while several countries are falling short, they're not delinquent. They all paid a fee to join. The Paris Accords is a little different, and it's also way bigger than NATO, and only pledges to work toward slowing down climate change and researching ways to do it. Again, nobody's delinquent in that. Trump claimed that it hurts the US to work toward climate change when other countries don't, but that's not true either. Our research into renewable energy is already paying off, and solar and wind power is now cheaper and employs several times more people than coal and natural gas powerplants. Slowing down climate change helps everybody. Lastly, helping Ukraine is not about furthering war, but about helping Ukraine resist the Russian invasion and diminishing Russia's ability to extend its war into other countries, including NATO countries. NATO is being asked to pay your dues and stopped relying on the US to carry NATO's weight exclusively.... If NATO is not spending their 2% of their GDP on defense they are delinquent. If NATO is spending less than their 2%.....they are short and delinquent. If the US is focusing more on renewable energy than the coal and natural gas industries is it any wonder then that they would be more folks employed in the renewable sector? I am not against renewable energy but America cannot sustain itself entirely on renewables. That is the gist of what Trump was getting at. Steel, oil and gas is the backbone of the American economy. Renewable energy is not always a viable commercial option plus higher upfront costs than traditional fossil fuels industries. We are talking balance here. Now u had a case where under 44th US was importing inferior steel from China when the US manufactures high quality steel, the same steel that help the US in ww2. Trump had to step in and secure the industry and the steel workers jobs. Now US Steel is being sold to Japan for billions of dollars (a sign that when a country is selling its family silver the country is in serious economic trouble and in serious debt) under 46th and the poor workers are afraid of their jobs when they had the promise from 46th than America came first. I suppose if there is any consolation US Steel will be sold to an American ally instead of its competitors. |

If you mess with our troops we won’t leave and he will bring in more troops to counter any action against us. But when Biden came in the Taliban felt emboldened to break the deal cause they saw weakness with Biden. ( they were right) . Joe had half a year to plan a successful withdrawal but he lacked the common knowledge to put any plan into action until the last minute. He left millions of dollars of our armor and weapons there for the taking.. There is still people their that Joe left behind, not to mention the 13 that were killed During “ the most successful withdrawal in history” .🤪 ... and what makes you think Biden wouldn’t have just scrapped those Trump plans like he did everything else Trump did…
Nice thought, but during Trump's term, the US lost more than 60 servicemen in Afghanistan. So much for "don't mess with our troops." And getting out by that date? Never happened. Not even any plans for it. It's like Pompeo signed the agreement and everybody promptly forgot about it until after the election, and then still did nothing for it. Didn't move an ounce of equipment out of country until Biden came into office. Had they actually made arrangements, the move would've been at least partially complete by the time Biden was sworn in. Don't know where you got your notions of Trump doing so much. So Biden administration needed Trump administration to move equipment out of Afghanistan for the move to be at least partially complete by the time Biden was sworn in? The agreement between US and the Taliban was to withdraw troops by May 2021. Biden was sworn in Jan 2021. 6 months was not sufficient time to plan a withdrawal? The US government kept delaying and pushing back the withdrawal date of its troops. Did they think that the Taliban was just going to sit by and not begin the process of taking over the rulership of Afghanistan even if a change of a US leader? All you have done is shown the incompetent of the Biden leadership. They waited at the last minute to withdraw troops BEFORE civilians 1 month before the 20th anniversary of 911 less 'we get attacked by the Taliban'. Leaving billions in armaments behind. With the US intelligence supposedly one of the best in the world informing the world that the Taliban won't reach the capital until weeks but guess what, the terrorists did it in 3 days and it was everyman for himself from then on. A repeat of the Vietnam fiasco. |

I haven't read all the back and forths above but in terms of the headline post, sadly I must say I'm not even sure we (USA) deserve the label "Superpower" anymore. This country has become SOOOO freaking weak in almost every way. Our kids are a mess, fat, weak, whiny, and triggered at any little thing. Always a victim, always criticizing those that came before them for their problems. These are the kids (men?) that are going to go up against China? China makes killing machines and we are all about putting trans people in high ranks in our military JUST BECAUSE. We've loosened our standards for fitness in the military just to let in more of our marshmallow young recruits. We put transgender nonsense training for our recruits. The list goes on and on. If it weren't for our wealth and weapons, we wouldn't stand a chance from a pure fighting perspective. Not forgetting the obsession of pregnancy suits made for Air Force women. So now we have pregnant women fighting American wars. Also the shrinking of the military under Obama (first obvious sign of a declining world power) while other military nations are increasing their military quotas and beefing up their fitness standards. And not just putting trans people in high ranks but also US military offering sex change surgery to its soliders. |
