BTW, Fergus is Celtic for penis Apparently you don't have the Gaelic. Fergus is the anglicized form of Fearghas, which means "man of vigour". [Source: http://www.behindthename.com/name/fergus ] And where do you think "man of vigour" comes from; should I have said in ancient celtic, ie- cattle raid of cooley, it means penis. |

s MIT CALCULATED THE ODDS
Are you talking about Murray Eden, the electrical engineer at MIT? Don't you love how creationists will go to great lengths to show academic credentials? Even when they demonstrate no relation/scholarship/experience with the subject at hand. I esp love the Dr. So and So's whose doctorate is in Xian education and not geology, biology, etc |

Anybody heard of this strange phenomenon going on between men and women? Why is it that some people can't tell the difference between flirting/teasing and insulting the opposite sex? Yes this is a basic tenet in PUA training, it is suppose to be a HVD; however it is a shame how things have devolved from negging to just insulting; much of the original teachings are distorted and miss understood |

From an interview with the Bishop John Shelby Spong:
“One of the things I had great fun with was compiling all of the human misbehaviors for which the Bible recommends the death penalty,” Spong said. “Did you know that in the book of Deuteronomy we are told that if a child is willfully disobedient and talks back to his or her parents, that child is to be taken to the elders of the city and stoned until dead at the gates of the city?” Through examining and exposing the Bible’s inconsistencies and logical impossibilities, Spong says it can be reclaimed and no longer used as a weapon of prejudice and oppression. Information about the Bible has been kept hidden from religious practitioners by the authority figures and powers in the church, Spong said. “Someone said the church likes to treat laypeople like mushrooms,” he said. “You keep them in the dark and you cover them over with — shall we say — manure.” Everything we have in the New Testament about Jesus floated through some kind of oral transmission for 40 to 70 years before anybody wrote it down. How literal can such a process be? - John Shelby Spong Retired bishop, Episcopal Church Spong’s first point is that the Bible is young. In a world where the first human-like creatures appeared four million years ago, the 3,000-year-old Bible is a new arrival, Spong said. His second point is that Moses did not author the Torah. “In the 34th chapter of Deuteronomy, the last book of the Torah — the story of death — Moses’ death and burial is told. It’s a remarkable author that can write that,” Spong said. The Torah was actually compiled over a span of 500 years, Spong said. Bullet point three is that David did not write the Psalms. Spong said the Psalms were written following the exile, when David was already dead for at least 500 years. The fourth point is that Solomon did not write the Proverbs. “One surely wonders how it came about that a man who had 300 wives and 700 concubines could ever have been thought of as wise,” Spong said. Spong’s fifth point is that the prophets of the Hebrew faith were unaware that their writings would be considered Scriptures. Spong called them “counterculture creatures.” The sixth point is that there are three different and contradictory versions of the Ten Commandments. “You cannot really name the Ten Commandments biblically, because they do not agree,” Spong said. “One’s in Exodus 20, one’s in Exodus 34 and one’s in Deuteronomy 5.” Spong’s seventh point is that Mark wrote the first Gospel, and John the last. The first Gospels were written in Greek over 40 years, or at least two generations after the crucifixion. The last Gospels were written until at least 65 years after Jesus died, Spong said “Everything we have in the New Testament about Jesus floated through some kind of oral transmission for 40 to 70 years before anybody wrote it down,” he said. “How literal can such a process be?” His eighth point is that Paul did all his writing between the years 51 and 64, before any Gospels were written down. Not all the Epistles considered “Pauline” were actually written by Paul. Spong said the authentic Epistles of Paul were First Thessalonians, Galatians, First Corinthians, Second Corinthians, Romans, Philemon and Philippians. “Number nine: There is no evidence that we can find anywhere that miracles understood as supernatural acts were ever associated with the memory of Jesus of Nazareth before the eighth decade of this Common Era,” Spong said. Spong’s 10th and 11th points are that the theory of the virgin birth does not enter the Christian history until the ninth decade, and the story of Jesus’ ascension does not enter Christian history until the 10th decade. Spong’s 12th point is that Jesus’ followers did not leave the synagogue until 58 years after Jesus’ crucifixion. “The division between Christianity and Judaism is a very late division,” he said. “The Christian inability to place its story into a Jewish context is the primary source, I believe, of the way the Christian story has been distorted with literalism.” Spong’s final point is that there is no proof Paul was ever aware of the story of the virgin birth, or that Paul ever met a person named Judas Iscariot. |

Can Man Be Righteous?
Genesis 7:1: The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. Noah was righteous. Job 2:3: Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason." Job was righteous. Luke 1:6: Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commandments and regulations blamelessly. Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous. James 5:16: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Some men are righteous, and their prayers are effective. 1 John 3:7: Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous Christians become righteous. Romans 3:10: As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; No one is righteous. And while you are at it, please explain who Jeremy the prophet is and his document and why would he be quoted, when the quote is already in the canon elsewhere |

The county actually has a law where documenting racial profiling stats is mandatory, since 2000. It shows that blacks are consistently "over policed" by 86% over whites. There are three blacks on the police force: two women and one man. four days after the incident, the witness, who was right there with the victim had not been interviewed yet by the police. All this information is out there.
Like a child throwing a tantrum and trashing their own room, it is called "acting in", keep pushing and they will "act out". |

I do not believe that a toaster or a television could over hundreds or thousands or even millions of years just naturally develop into the working mechanisms they are, let alone reproduce themselves,,,, so,, there is that I am sorry, did I miss something, this statement appears to be a non sequitur. It is basically constructed to say something like: I do not believe that black is white; and why would you? Who would believe that inanimate objects could reproduce themselves? I am a bit sensitive to syntax and semantics as I have had to spend countless hours having conversations with psychotically delusional people- what we call "word salads"; ever see the cartoon where it shows the therapist's note pad and he is writing "I will not fall asleep"?, mine would have said "I am getting paid for this" LOL. Can you explain? Also, if I can make a personal note? In your everyday speech, do you use phrases like: "just saying" and "so, there is that"? I think that would be cute and endearing. |

Genesis 7:19-20 {the waters} They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet.
This would require steady, planet-wide rainfall at the rate of 6 inches per minute, 360 inches an hour, for 40 days and 40 nights, covering Mount Everest under 22 feet of water. How, exactly, did Noah measure this for the record? Where has all of the water gone since? And why is there no legitimate geological evidence of a global flood? Genesis 8:8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. Why did Noah require a dove to find land (Genesis 8) if he and God were on speaking terms in Genesis 6? Genesis 8:15-16 Then God said to Noah, "Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it." When the ark landed, what did the carnivores eat? All other animal life had been drowned. And vegetation would’ve also been wiped out in the flood, so what did the herbivores eat to survive? Genesis 9:1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 8 people of middle-eastern descent practiced incest to produce over 5,000 of today’s ethnic groups in only a few hundred generations? Genesis 9:20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. The only guy worth saving spent his latter days drunk and naked? NOTE: Much of the biblical flood story was actually plagiarized from "The Epic of Gilgamesh," the mythical Sumerian account of Ut-Napishtim written on stone tablets around 2000 BC. In "The Epic of Gilgamesh, one righteous man was spared from a worldwide flood by building a large boat with a single door and one window. The ark contained a few other human beings plus plant and animal specimens. Rains covered the mountains with water. Birds were sent to find land. The boat landed on a mountain in the middle east. Ut-Napshtim sacrificed an animal as an offering, and the Babylonian gods expressed regret for flooding the earth. Sound familiar? |

I have also dated a lot of african american women and the most common negative comment was: "but I am the only black person here"
To which I would point out the other black people in the room- usually two tables away. Mostly I foundn the issues were individual ones which you would have in any relationship |
