Technically he would still be married, I don't date married men. He'd have to get a divorce first and then we could date.

I see my stomach hang down and I am filled with self disdain
I wince when I take a step but tell myself I don't feel pain
I get up in the morning questioning if I am even alive
what I want and need are unattainable so why even strive
My emotionless expression is given when my mind is over run
By memories of corn fields, silos and when I used to have fun
now simple joys no longer amuse me
I stay long for women who have abused me
and for all the good luck I had
I got more bad
and that really isn't the luck I want at all

If I won some money I'll tell you how I'd spend it
I'd find a woman with a mouth that felt like velvet
And spend it all just hear I love you and believe it
I'm not satisfied or happy on my own
I just sit in the dark feeling alone
wishing I had a soft warm body that I could make moan

Humming of the vehicles from miles away and crickets are all I hear
so I write on my cigarette "I wish that you were here"
Then light it up and burn the message and take it in
Sometimes you need fire to burn it all away so you can start again
I get so lost with no entertainment just mediocrity and the plain
I feel cozy, safe and at home inside of the cluster insaine
Some people seem too content
Their happiness makes me want to be violent
instead I hide inside my cage
build up sexual frustration and rage
I'm just a monkey jerking off stuck behind four blank walls

Your poem touched me so much that I am
going to write on my cigarette "I wish that you were here" then lite it up and smoke it!smokin

I’m not seeing how that "timeline" really represents anything. Its apples and oranges? Also with or without a timeline, probably there should still be an explanation for why there was

A. No mention of the flood by a highly literate people

B. No known or established break in their culture.

C. Why is there no evidence of flood in Egypt and why do we have so much of their antiquity intact and on record in museums today with virtually no water damage of any kind?

C. There was no evidence of the flood in Egyptians records because they were all DEAD. I just watched a program (last night) where the very earth herself has recorded the flood within her crust. Not to mention seashells on the tops of mountains. How did they get there? Also there would be no Egyptians left to write the history. There were only eight people left alive after the flood...Noah and his family.

B. What was their culture before the flood? We don't know, because it was all washed away.

A. Here is your ancient highly literate mention from around the world:

Flood Legends from Around the World

Africa

Southwest Tanzania
Once upon a time the rivers began to flood. The god told two people to get into a ship. He told them to take lots of seed and to take lots of animals. The water of the flood eventually covered the mountains. Finally the flood stopped. Then one of the men, wanting to know if the water had dried up let a dove loose. The dove returned. Later he let loose a hawk which did not return. Then the men left the boat and took the animals and the seeds with them.

Asia

China
The Chinese classic called the Hihking tells about "the family of Fuhi," that was saved from a great flood. This ancient story tells that the entire land was flooded; the mountains and everything, however one family survived in a boat. The Chinese consider this man the father of their civilization. This record indicates that Fuhi, his wife, three sons, and three daughters were the only people that escaped the great flood. It is claimed, that he and his family were the only people alive on earth, and repopulated the world.

Babylon
Gilgamesh met an old man named Utnapishtim, who told him the following story. The gods came to Utnapishtim to warn him about a terrible flood that was coming. They instructed Utnapishtim to destroy his house and build a large ship. The ship was to be 10 dozen cubits high, wide and long. Utnapishtim was to cover the ship with pitch. He was supposed to take male and female animals of all kinds, his wife and family, provisions, etc. into the ship. Once ship was completed the rain began falling intensely. The rain fell for six days and nights. Finally things calmed and the ship settled on the top of Mount Nisir. After the ship had rested for seven days Utnapishtim let loose a dove. Since the land had not dried the dove returned. Next he sent a swallow which also returned. Later he let loose a raven which never returned since the ground had dried. Utnapishtim then left the ship.

Chaldean
There was a man by the name of Xisuthrus. The god Chronos warned Xisuthrus of a coming flood and told him to build a boat. The boat was to be 5 stadia by 2 stadia. In this boat Xisuthrus was to put his family, friends and two of each animal (male and female). The flood came. When the waters started to recede he let some birds loose. They came back and he noticed they had mud on their feet. He tried again with the same results. When he tried the third time the birds did not return. Assuming the water had dried up the people got out of the boat and offered sacrifices to the gods.

India
A long time ago lived a man named Manu. Manu, while washing himself, saved a small fish from the jaws of a large fish. The fish told Manu, "If you care for me until I am full grown I will save you from terrible things to come". Manu asked what kind of terrible things. The fish told Manu that a great flood would soon come and destroy everything on the earth. The fish told Manu to put him in a clay jar for protection. The fish grew and each time he outgrew the clay jar Manu gave him a larger one. Finally the fish became a ghasha, one of the largest fish in the world. The fish instructed Manu to build a large ship since the flood was going to happen very soon. As the rains started Manu tied a rope from the ship to the ghasha. The fish guided the ship as the waters rose. The whole earth was covered by water. When the waters began subsiding the ghasha led Manu's ship to a mountaintop.

Australia

There is a legend of a flood called the Dreamtime flood. Riding on this flood was the woramba, or the Ark Gumana. In this ark was Noah, Aborigines, and various animals. This ark eventually came to rest in the plain of Djilinbadu where it can still be found. They claim that the white mans story about the ark landing in the middle east is a lie that was started to keep the aborigines in subservience. This legend is undoubtedly the product of aboriginal legends merging with those of visiting missionaries, and there does not appear to be any native flood stories from Australia.

Europe

Greece
A long time ago, perhaps before the golden age was over, humans became proud. This bothered Zeus as they kept getting worse. Finally Zeus decided that he would destroy all humans. Before he did this Prometheus, the creator of humans, warned his human son Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha. Prometheus then placed this couple in a large wooden chest. The rains started and lasted nine days and nights until the whole world was flooded. The only thing that was not flooded was the peaks of Mount Parnassus and Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus is the home of the gods. The wooden chest came to rest on Mount Parnassus. Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha got out and saw that everything was flooded. The lived on provisions from the chest until the waters subsided. At Zeus' instruction they re-populated the earth.

North America

Mexico
The Toltec natives have a legend telling that the original creation lasted for 1716 years, and was destroyed by a flood and only one family survived.

Aztec- A man named Tapi lived a long time ago. Tapi was a very pious man. The creator told Tapi to build a boat that he would live in. He was told that he should take his wife, a pair of every animal that was alive into this boat. Naturally everyone thought he was crazy. Then the rain started and the flood came. The men and animals tried to climb the mountains but the mountains became flooded as well. Finally the rain ended. Tapi decided that the water had dried up when he let a dove loose that did not return.

United States
The Ojibwe natives who have lived in Minnesota USA since approximately 1400AD also have a creation and flood story that closely paralleles the Biblical account. "There came a time when the harmonious way of life did not continue. Men and women disrespected each other, families quarreled and soon villages began arguing back and forth. This saddened Gitchie Manido [the Creator] greatly, but he waited. Finally, when it seemed there was no hope left, Creator decided to purify Mother Earth through the use of water. The water came, flooding the Earth, catching all of creation off guard. All but a few of each living thing survived." Then it tells how Waynaboozhoo survived by floating on a log in the water with various animals.
Ojibwe - Ancient native American creation story tells of world wide flood.

Delaware Indians - In the pristine age, the world lived at peace; but an evil spirit came and caused a great flood. The earth was submerged. A few persons had taken refuge on the back of a turtle, so old that his shell had collected moss. A loon flew over their heads and was entreated to dive beneath the water and bring up land. It found only a bottomless sea. Then the bird flew far away, came back with a small portion of earth in its bill, and guided the tortoise to a place where there was a spot of dry land.

South America

Inca
During the period of time called the Pachachama people became very evil. They got so busy coming up with and performing evil deeds they neglected the gods. Only those in the high Andes remained uncorrupted. Two brothers who lived in the highlands noticed their llamas acting strangely. They asked the llamas why and were told that the stars had told the llamas that a great flood was coming. This flood would destroy all the life on earth. The brothers took their families and flocks into a cave on the high mountains. It started to rain and continued for four months. As the water rose the mountain grew keeping its top above the water. Eventually the rain stopped and the waters receded. The mountain returned to its original height. The shepherds repopulated the earth. The llamas remembered the flood and that is why they prefer to live in the highland areas.

Shalom!

Last time I checked it said CHRISTMASS on U.S. calendars. You get Christmas off not krishnaday off in December. Christmas and Easter are recognized by Federal, Sate and Local governments in the U.S.A. So no leg for you to stand on.

Hey the pagans got Halloween right. At least Jesus loves us enough to give us the day off. Haaa Haaaa!!!!

My mistake. I was under the impression that you were a Bible believing individual. You do as the Federal, state & Local government commands you, and as for me and my house I'll will stick to what the Bible says.

Shalom!

Yeh right…Please . Do you actually read these post or do you just make it up as you go. I was talking about Christmas being a recognized holiday by more than just Christians. Even Jews recognize Jesus as a Profit.

Yes, I am reading what you have posted. However it doesn't make any sense. A TRUE Christian does not acknowledge xmas. A TRUE Christian KNOWS that xmas is of pagan origin.

Dec 25th has nothing to do with the Messiah, it is a pagan festival. You are fighting for your right to celebrate a pagan festival.

Do you understand?

Yes it's true Jews always recognize a profit. However most Jews do not consider the Messiah a Prophet.

Shalom.

I don’t know what x-mass is but CHRIST-Mass is the celebration of Christ birth.

What you have stated is NOT BIBLICAL. It is tradition. Plain and simple.

Shalom.

So what???!! You think its a bad thing to celebrate Gods Son's Birthday???????????
Next year I don’t think anyone should celebrate your birthday...

It's a nice gesture that says “Hey, Lord thanks for sending you son to save our sorry rear ends and thank you Jesus.”

And you think this is a bad thing????????WHAT???WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?????????

laugh Your antics are very amusing. Keep your tradition, (yawn) knock yourself out with it, I'll stick to what the Bible says.

Shalom!

Check out Mary Magdeline in the New Testament. Upon reading, you'll discover that she was an important disciple. Remember, she was the one chosen to make the discovery of the Resurrection and spread the word to the others. The time period of the New Testament can hardly be compared to modern times when it comes to the influence by women. Even so, there were several Biblical heroines and leaders of the Hebrew army and politic.

Women also support the ministry with their money! Not to mention the other women that are held in high regard: Ruth, Mary, Deborah (she was a judge), and there many more. You also have the Messiah speaking to a woman at the well, and His disciples were shocked that He was talking to a woman.

The Messiah is our example, He held women in high regard so I wouldn't put to much thought on anyone else saying otherwise.

May you quest for TRUTH and KNOWLEDGE be blessed by the one and only Elohim of Israel.

Shalom!

Christmas has Pagan origions as Yule. Just as well as Easter. Where do you thnk the concept of bunnies and brightly colored eggs came from? You dont find that in church now do ya? Unless you have a fun church. laugh

Yule (Winter Solstice) - circa December 20-23

Yule is a time of rebirth and renewal. At Yule, the Goddess gives birth to her son, the God who is symbolized by the sun. His birth brings hope and the promise of the coming summer. Yule is a remnant of older rituals which hurried the end of winter and the coming of spring.

Thank you! The eggs at easter represent fertility, for the fertility goddess.

Yet here we have so called Christians claiming it as Biblical.

Hilarious!!!laugh

Look , I don’t sit down with God and have a beer with him on Wednesday nights. The way I understand it is that God very ,very, very rarely directly shows himself to man.

“Why ?” You may ask… well its because of this free will thing. See if God talked directly to everyone peoples free will would be hampered. This all has to do with Satan. God wants us to freely accept him through faith and following his word. If he showed himself to everyone 99.1 % of people would accept him if for no other reason than self preservation. He does not want you to be his slave.God wants us to love him .kinda like you want your wife or girlfriend to love you for who you are and not for what you have or because of what you might do to them if they reject you. God keeps life the way it is because he wants you to accept him ..the idea of him, because you want too.Not because you are afraid he will crush you like a bug. This works in Satan favor as he can take the souls of those who make the decision to turn away from God. We pick hell God does not put us there. Just the way I see it.

If that were true, then there would be no threat of Hell would there?

JB

Some TRUTH for you JB:

The church (pagan sun worshippers) tells BUNCHES of lies!

1. If you are good, when you die you to heaven.
2. If you are bad, when you die you go to hell.
3. Sunday is the Sabbath (sun god worship)
4. Xmas is the day of the birth of the Messiah
5. Easter (Isthar worship-pagan goddess) is the day the Messiah rose

The Bible doesn't say ANY of these things!!!!

I mean people teach their innocent babies that there is a santa claus KNOWING that they are LYING through their teeth! Then they wonder why when their children are grown and learn the truth they consider their parents liars! The worst part is, instead of breaking the vicious cycle of lies, they continue with it and teach their children the same thing! Oh my bad, it's tradition..the tradition of lying to your children! How noble!

I used to believe all of it, and then I sat down to read it for myself. I was tired of the (excuse my french) BS!!! In the process of reading and praying the TRUTH was revealed. Humble yourself (not to say that you are not already humble) Ask the right Elohim...YHWH.

But, if you want to do it your own way, that is the beauty of my Elohim, He has given us free will to do as we please.bigsmile

Shalom!
actually, I feel that Christmas was the conception of Christ and he was born in September, this is a deeper study of the priesthood at that time and the course of Abiah<--might be misspelled, not getting up to check right nowdrinker

When you get a minute, please post the scripture that says that the Messiah was conceived on xmas. Thank you.
actually would love to, would take a lot longer than a minute or even two, basically, Joseph was a priest, and its a long study that gives the timeline, will try to gather some info on it for you if you would like so that you could read it yourself, i've been up all night and this is not a minute teaching, but check, mary met with sara who was pregnant with john and the baby kicked in her womb cause of the spirit of christ in her belly, not born yet, still in the belly, this was around christmas and all that, its really a mute point in as much as it is still the time that Christ began to dwell with us and shows that life begins at conception not birth and i'm not teaching a hour or so bible study in here, casting the pearls before swine thing that i just dont want to do, just giving my opinion of the way my study of scripture has developed in me, again, all must come to their own conclusions, I am not a Pastor, I dont seek converts to christianity, these are not my gifts given of God. I do study, read, pray and develop my own understanding of my Heavenly Father as best I can, love to talk with other believers even though I don't agree with a lot of what is taught in church by self proclaimed preachers

Requesting a minute was a figure of speech, and you would cast no pearls before swine here, as I am one that studies to show thyself approved. My point of asking for a scripture that stated that The Messiah was conceived on xmas is moot. Since there is no such Scripture.

Yes one can count backwards nine months, but as you stated it is your opinion that the Messiah was conceived on xmas. The Scriptures do not state that, so one should do as the Scriptures say and not add or take away from what is written.

That is the problem with the church as it is, everyone stating their opionions on what they think. Stick to the scripture, especially when you are in a forum that has non-believers. It only confuses the issue.

Please understand that I mean no disrespect to you and I can appreciate that you are leaning on your own understanding, but the Scriptures tell us not to lean on our own understanding.

If we look back at the time of the conception of the Messiah it could have been on Dec 15th, or the 13th, or even the 27th. It doesn't state the date of His conception. Make no assumptions. The TRUTH is He was conceived and He came and fulfilled His mission and that was to let us know that we need to repent (turn back) for the Kingdom of Yahweh is at hand!

Shalom!
wasn't referring to you as swine, sorry if it sounded that way, and I know the minute thing was a figure of speech, wether christ was born or concieved on christmas is not really that important in the big picture, at least we share God and Christ either way and he began to dwell with us. God bless you and yours
I think maybe you are leaning on your own understanding as well on things. and its not yahweh or YHWH, its YHVH ( pronounced, yah ha vay

Hebrew 101bigsmile flowerforyou

INCORRECT "yah ha vay" is INCORRECT.

Instead of trying to one up me, when it really isn't about that, you should be more concerned with having the correct information. KNOW who you worship.

CORRECT "Yod He Vav He" CORRECT.

Put that into the English Alphabet it would be:
YHWH or as some say YHVH--there is a debate.

Add vowels to His name (although in Hebrew there are no vowel points) you would get YAHWEH.

I don't lean on my understanding, it's Hebrew look it up.

Shalom! <--that means Peace in Hebrew.

I don’t see the point of arguing what day or month Jesus was born on/in. The point is that his birth is celebrated. Also this X-MASS thing is a blatant back handed attempt to take Christ name out of the holiday. So if you respect the profit/ Savior of the world… I think it would be nice to include his name in his birthday celebration title.

You are of course ASSUMING that the Bible tells us to celebrate His birth. It does not. Nor does it state that Dec. 25th was His birth date. That is a bold face LIE.

Since there is no birth date given, and we are not instructed to celebrate the birthday of the MESSIAH, at any point or any where in the Bible. I am not showing any disrespect. I KNOW who I worship, do you?

I tell you the TRUTH, you would fair much better to sit down and
take the time to study, do some research. Stop believing the LIES. However if you insist on Dec 25th being the MESSIAH'S birth please provide the Scripture to back it up.

Thank you:smile:
Shalom!

Its not a lie. We just decided to celebrate his birthday on Dec. 25th thats all. I have never had anyone tell me he was absolutely born on Dec. 25th. I think that the Lord likes the fact that we celebrate his sons birthday. What is your point???

I would like to know who "We" is? Who gave this "We" character the right to take the day of a pagan celebration and make it the date of my Messiah's birth?

My point is: if you say that you are a believer shouldn't you KNOW what the origins of your beliefs are? Right now you are NOT celebrating the life of the Messiah, you are in fact worshipping idols.

You are commanded NOT to do as the pagans do, yet every year come Dec 25th you take a pagan festival and have the nerve to say "We" decided it was the Messiah's birth!

That is so wrong!

But since that is okay with you, from now on whatever day you were born on, is no longer your birthday. I talked it over with "We" and "We" decided from now on your birthday is every 2nd Thursday of every 7th year in the months that start with the letter "O".

You don't like that do you? You think I am being rude and disrespectful. Well guess what?! Your Messiah thinks the same about you, and when "We" decided it was okay to make His birthday 25th WITHOUT ANY AUTHORITY to do so?!

It's okay for Him, but not for you? Oh yes, it's tradition. I have no time for lies or it's tradition, been there and done that, there is no fruit on that tree.

Shalom!
