Hello. Reminding us all that the enemy of our soul...that old devil never gets tired and so we must not get tired of resisting his tricks. May I share a request from one Christian (a brother) to another Christian (a sister)? As below:

"Happy Easter to you and I pray that all our goodness and destinies are arisen as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I'm a believer living in uk ... I am a committed Christian...
I have a proposal for you and want you to pray about it.
I m yearning to have more children responsibly, I have discussed this with my wife and we are vomiting all into the hands of God.
My wife cannot have children again coz of age and career.
Can you pray about this to find out if God will want us to come together this way?
I think the time has come we Christians ... face realities and help and support ourselves in our walk with the Lord.
I'm sure God will speak.
So let me hear from u in due course.
Every blessing.

Does anyone else see the trick that I see in this request - considering the position of the word of God? It is so important to watch out for these tricks...small and big ones we have to face daily and to resist (James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.)

2nd Peter Chapter 1:

"3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, that through these you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of passion, and become partakers of the divine nature. 5 For this very reason make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be the more zealous to confirm your call and election, for if you do this you will never fall; 11 so there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ".

Amen!!!

Satan always seeks to twist and pervert the issue to serve his interests. At the moment he may be promoting family breakdown, gender confusion, and moral conflict. But Satan's real, underlying motive goes far beyond these issues. His desire is to capture the passions of the human race, because that is the highest priority on God's agenda. (1 Peter 5:8-9) #LightTheTriad

Thanks for reminding of 1 Peter 5:8-9. Very important!!!

Please explain some more about what you mean by "gender confusion". I don't quite catch what exactly you mean to communicate by that expression. Thank you.

Are you looking for debate as opposed to a Biblical definition & clarification of what "gender confusion" is. ?

I'm sure (& he can correct me if i'm wrong), that the OP is ONLY referring to Biblical Scpiture where as any sexual acts (& identify) other than between a MAN & HIS WIFE, is "gender confusion".

*The OP may or may not be referring to "Biblical & Historical Roles of 'Man & Wife' " With God the head of man, and man the head of the wife. With ALL Christians being the bride of Christ & the wife the bride of man"

Shalom

Sorry, SassyEuro2....I am not in anyway looking for a debate. I do NOT debate over the word of God. I have read through 1 Peter 5:8-9 and I do understand the message in that scripture but I simply and sincerely did not understand what williamsdwight3 meant by "gender confusion". And I still do not understand it. I doubt if it is wrong to ask if one does not understand. To apply anything to one's life, one must understand and I do NOT understand it.

No disrespect, but maybe some people here need to read up about the Annunaki, that landed in the middle east, 420,000 years ago? As I found out more reading up about them, who made the human species, by splicing their genes, with those of homo erectus, as I found in the entire bible! That alien race were the real creators? Plenty of evidence to back it up also! The dates and technology described correspond, with the Sumerian tablets that detailed everything also! How did races of people thousands of years ago and continents apart, know about exactly how many planets were in this solar system? Even mentioning Pluto, which wasn't officially discovered until 1930. They also mentioned a tenth planet, Nibiru, which has an orbit around our sun, of 3400 years! This is where the Annunaki come from! Astronomers and scientists around the world now accept the possible existence of a 10th planet, out in the Oort cloud. Bit of a coincidence, how when they were here, all the brilliant construction marvels, like the Pyramids, Sphinx, etc, were sprouting up everywhere around the world? Some with stone cutting techniques that would be hard to replicate nowadays, even with our technology! They were also meant to have left this planet to return to their own one in 1500bc, which was around the time of the old testament also? Read up about it, as it makes good reading!

Hi messi... Hope you are doing great.

I was actually wondering about exactly what you were trying to communicate and didn't quite understand that it is about evolution theory until I read the reply from Toks88.

Would you like to take one step - if you will? You can decide to prayer a very sincere prayer to the Most High God...ask HIM to show you/proof to you the truth about creation and about JESUS CHRIST and about salvation...and about heaven and hell. If you pray sincerely with a genuine desire, HE will respond because HE hears...and...sees...and acts. HE is alive! He said "draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you". He also said, "Seek and you shall find". HE is God and the creator of all things and HE will judge ALL men. The Bible is HIS word and the Bible is true! There is no other name whereby man can be saved except through JESUS CHRIST.

God bless you.

Thanks! Jesusmyall and Cowboy. smile. Why i ask this? I am living with the Jewish religious people and there are times that i am joining with some of there gatherings and there are some questions that comes to my mind. Why the Jewish concentrated with the old testament. I am become observant to them and i do want to learn more about there belief.

Maybe this is not the point of the op but the topic touchs some of my question.

You are welcome, Redbutterfly098. I only hope that you found the contributions helpful.

Actually, right through the new testament, you will discover that the Jews (predominantly), had problems believing that JESUS CHRIST is the messiah that the prophets talked about and that HE is the Christ. And this makes it hard for many of them to take hold of the salvation that exists through JESUS CHRIST.

But God is a covenant keeping God and HE is still with the nation, Israel for the sake of the covenant that HE made with Abraham, Isaac and Jocob. Nevertheless, God will not change the way of salvation that has been created through the death resurrection of JESUS CHRIST.

Please do much of praying for the Jews around you and try to study enough of the Bible to enable you take your Jewish friends through relevant scripture portions in both the old and new testament, in proof of JESUS CHRIST as the messiah.

God bless you richly. Amen!

Hello, all. I am thinking more and more deeply about this question as relates to my own life and I just thought I should throw this out to others too.

Someone said, "whatever you love the most is your god", and I was like, "wow, this sounds really heavy ...I need to comb through EVERYTHING about me now and find out what I need to KICK out, to give GOD the throne in every department of my life".

" 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "

I actually still like the old Hymns the best.
I love
Trinity...
and of course
Amazing grace

Hello, SitkaRains. Indeed, the old hymns are great, including Trinity and Amazing grace.

Your message reminds me of the hymn, "Give me that old time religion..."

Reminds me of the Bible verse- JESUS CHRIST the same yesterday, today and tomorrow...Amen!!!

Perhaps Galatians 5: 19-21 is useful is helping us exercise the care we need to daily exercise as we seek to draw closer to God and seek HIM for restoration of first love:

Galatians 5:19-21:

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,
21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

May God's grace and mercy multiply in our lives. The implication is that each one of us (including me), MUST kick these things out of lives, if we want to really enter heaven. This is of course not by our power but through complete dependence upon the grace of God through JESUS CHRIST. What GOD needs is our willingness and complete surrender to HIS will.

God help us all. Amen!

Amen, Toks88.

The more we draw closer to God...seek HIM...consecrate our lives to JESUS CHRIST, the more HIS grace is poured down into our lives and tunes our heart to what He wants it to be. It is by HIS grace and mercy alone. Our duty is to be willing and prepared to receive that grace.

We keep pushing to know HIM more and more until finally...in that great day, we step into the bliss of HIS everlasting presence. Amen!!!

You posted a good topic.
My question is: Why is it that the word of God "you stated above" from the old testament repeatedly written in the new testament.?

I want to share a very interesting conversation that took place between JESUS and the Jews, as recorded in the book of John Chapter 8:48-59 as reproduced below:

48.The Jews answered him, "Aren't we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?"
49. "I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.
50. I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge.
51. Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death."
52. At this they exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never taste death.
53. Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?"
54. Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.
55. Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word.
56. Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad."
57. "You are not yet fifty years old," they said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!"
58. "Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"

59. At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

Please note JESUS' statement in verse 58. When God said in Genesis, "Let us create man in our image", JESUS was there!

That's also why the Bible explains that nothing was created without Christ and that HE (JESUS) is the beginning and the end. JESUS has co-existed with GOD the Father and God- the Holy Spirit from the very beginning and is God. JESUS is also referred to as the Word of God. HE is the same LORD of the old testament as HE is of the new testament. Fundamental difference is that HE has shed HIS blood as the ransom for mankind. Salvation is now therefore through HIM alone. The blood of bulls and lambs will no longer cleanse sin, as happened in the old testament. Instead of the blood of animals, JESUS laid down HIS own life once and for all and allowed HIS blood to be poured out for man's sins. To achieve this, HE had to take on human flesh and be crucified and resurrected.

I hope this helps

Amazing grace is as amazing as its words - an explicit description of what we were before JESUS CHRIST met us and what HIS grace was able to do for us - rescuing us from the wretchedness of our soul....HIS power to keep us till the end by HIS grace and mercy.

However, I do not think that the inspired hymns compete with one another. I think the blessed Holy Spirit gave inspiration for each hymn to serve a distinct purpose and to send distinct messages to believers.

Wishing you a great day ahead, uche9aa

Thanks to the Holy Spirit for all the great hymns HE inspired people to write/compose. I just want to share one with all....there are countless others...but someone who is familiar with this hymn, please join me in singing and practicing the words...

A BEAUTIFUL LIFE
1.Each day I'll do a golden deed,
By helping those who are need
My life on earth is but a span;
And so I’ll do the best I can

Chorus
Life's evening sun is sinking low,
A few more days and I must go,
To meet the deed that I have done,
Where there will be no setting sun

2. To be a child of God each day,
My light must shine along the way;
I'll sing His praise while ages roll,
And strive to help some troubled soul

3. The only life that will endure,
Is one that's kind and good and pure;
And so for God I'll take my stand,
Each day I'll lend a helping hand

4. I'll help someone in time of need,
And journey on with rapid speed;
I'll help the sick and poor and weak
And words of kindness to them speak

5. While going down life's weary road,
I'll try to lift some traveler's load;
I’ll try to turn the night to day
Make flowers bloom along the way

James Chapter 2:14-17 supports the words of this hymn:
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?
15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

2nd Timothy 3:16-17 says all scripture is inspired by God. This includes the old testament. DO NOT change it to suit your own opinion.

"ALL SCRIPTURE IS BREATHED OUT BY GOD AND PROFITABLE FOR TEACHING, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, AND FOR TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAT THE MAN OF GOD MAY BE COMPLETE, EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK".

2nd Timothy 3:16 is the last I have to say to you on this!!!!!

Dear cowboyGH,

In truth, I really DO NOT have a problem with whatever you choose to believe or cleave to in spite of clear scripture verses. Your choice is your right and you will account for your choices in belief.

My main concern and the reason why I have written so many times is because I am concerned about you misleading others into thinking that the old testament is not part of scripture.

Please do not mislead people on this. The scripture in one complete book called the Bible, which is Genesis to Revelation!!!!
