I have learned that it is better to just say it strait out. When i had
to tell the guy, yeah he was hurt and i felt awful but after a few days
they told me that they were glad i told them because it would have hurt
more if I continured to lead them on. Im still great friends with them
to this day. I figured I'd put my two bits in. I hope this helps.
