Anybody that has had chicken pox carries the shingles virus..You may never get them but seems more people are getting them these days. They are contagious for a time..I had them some years ago, my daughter had them when she was a toddler and my sister also had them when a toddler...The pain is very bad, a burning sensation, as is the itching, your doctor will recommend something for that. Mine only lasted for about 3-4 months but I know people that have had them for as long as a year or more. You would have a burning sensation before the breakout.. Hope that you don't get them..Ask your dr. about the shingles vaccine, not sure what the age limit is on that but you could be considered high risk because of your dialysis.

Viv, sorry to hear about your friend.. hugs Recently, a lot of young people have been passing away around here.. It's really sad.

For the last week we have had some beautiful weather, sunny, low humidity and 75-80 degrees..I've been sleeping with the windows open....leaves are starting to change..

I did a trip to Pennsylvania to see my daughter. She was in the hospital for a few days with acute bronchitis and wanted to give her some "mommy hugs"..She was glad I came..

Just past 71 1/2 and feeling pretty good. I've lost 74 lbs since Dec. but now having some back problems again and a problem with my knee replacement.. Dr says the knee problem may be due to losing weight (losing some muscle strength) so I had an appt with a therapist who gave me some special exercises to do for that. Most days I feel much younger than my age number..

Don (Old Sage) You will never be anything but YOUNG, no matter how ornery you are...

So proud of you Penny for staying with the program.. I know how hard it is some days, just keep it up!
BTW...your gdaughter is adorable!! hugs

I agree with Penny.. I'm down 74 lbs on my diet but have back problems so I can't always exercise as much as I would like..I'm diabetic but off all my meds for that and also my bp med..

Variety in your workouts help also.. Your body gets used to the same programs everyday.. Hang in there, you will feel much better in the long run..

Congrats to your daughter and her family.. The baby is adorable and what a beautiful name..

Also congrats to grandma Penny and to new aunt Leigh..

We're just having lots of weddings in our family, my gson last Oct., gdaughter in June, niece this last weekend and nephew in Nov.. Whew!! Lots of babies in the future I hope!! lol

Had a visit with another knee dr to try and find out whats making my knee hurt.. He couldn't find anything but thinks since I've lost so much weight, I may have lost some muscle in the knee area. Will be going to rehab for a couple of visits to learn what exercises to do for that...
