You're not being selfish! You will find over time that what is good for YOU ultimately turns out to best for your child, i.e., you become a more well rounded individual and your children benefit from that. bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile

That's a tough one! Maybe they're looking for something other than a friend and great relationship. They should have been up front with you when you first began to talk.

I don't e-mail hardly anyone any more. I, like most of you, have been ignored or abandonded too many times.

He will always be your sons father and he should always step up to the plate and always BE his father with whatever support is necessary. It would be a huge mistake for you to get back with him for the sake of your child because if he has not changed, your son will be the one who suffers the most. Grant your son a happy childhood by doing what's best for YOU, that ends up being what's best for him. bigsmile bigsmile

Hey Nightace....I know exactly how you feel. About 2 1/2 years after my wife passed away I met a lady that made me feel just like you are feeling. There was absolutely no doubt I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, but I wanted to be near her and with her so much, I became 'smothering' without realizing it. Needless to say, that chased her away from (I still miss her to this day).
My point....Be real careful of your feelings, you can ruin things very easily before you even know it!! drinker

I agree with xander29....it's his loss. He should have had the courtesy to at least say 'no thanks'.
Don't worry about it, it happens to all of us (or at least to me).laugh drinker
