Seamus thanks for your explanation...you stated it well, hate the name wormhole tho, wonder why it was name that.

Technically, the correct name for them is Einstein-Rosen bridges, so 'wormhole' is just a non-technical, visual term for the posited tunnel linking two regions of space.

Do I think that Covid 19 is a real disease? Yes.

Has it killed approximately 1.12 million people worldwide? Probably, although there seems to be some exaggeration of numbers, where anyone who died with Covid is listed as dying from Covid.

Are these deaths terrible for those who die and their family and friends? Absolutely.

On the other hand

I can't speak for other Countries but I do know that our own Government (of whatever Political persuasion) has never cared in the past how many of us die from preventable causes and I don't accept that they care now.

Influenza kills as many as ten thousand people in the UK every year, ignoring the death toll from road traffic accidents, drug abuse, alcohol and tobacco.

It is projected that many times the number of people who have died from Covid will die from cancer, heart attacks and strokes due to non treatment directly related to lockdown restrictions.

Is it fair and proportional to close the vast majority of businesses for months with the concomitant consequences for the economy, unemployment etc which will effect tens of millions of people in this country alone? Absolutely not.

At this point in time, my working hypothesis is that the Western Economy has crashed, much worse than it did in 2010 and for the same reason, namely that despite being warned of much needed reform, Governments have done nothing different since then except enforcing 'austerity measures' on us without any hopes of paying any of the debts imposed on the population.

Of course, you can never underestimate the incompetence of wealthy, career-politicians who have never had to make any serious and difficult decisions in their lives and are unlikely to be held accountable for the consequences of their failure.

Voting should be a matter of conscience, regardless of the outcome or what others think.

I agree, no free lunch, what is the catch?

I imagine that certain 'favours' will be expected in return, at the very least.
