I've often asked myself the same question. I'm a good person and know how to treat my man. It seems that no matter how much or little I try, I can't find that one to appreciate me and be willing to take a chance. How do you convince someone to give it a try? You aren't a lost cause hun. You just have to make the choice to realize that not all women are the same. I know that it can be easier said than done.

I was married to an abusive man and went through kind of the same thing you are going through. You should make up your mind that you won't settle for less than you deserve and really get to know someone before getting serious. Try being friends and hanging out with no strings attached until you start feeling more comfortable. Your intuition and heart will let you know what's right...just don't let your fear talk to you louder than your gut. Hope this helped a little.

Hi Mry...please consider putting your son in counseling. I divorced my son's dad when he was 4 and he behaved in similar ways....he would hit me and talk to me the way his dad always did. I put my son in counseling and he went for 3 years. Today my son is a happy, stable, respectful 15 year old. Just make sure that if you choose therapy, they have experience with children.
