I can't speak for everyone but I do believe I am serious,sane and I believe I'm genuine.I'm assuming you're talking about women being you are a dude.I have talked to several women from sites and I have come to find out most take everything you say with a grain of salt.That's ok because if you do find one you'd like to have a relationship with. Once they see you are genuine and who you portray to be then they open up and the two of you really communicate and build.Not saying it all works out everytime.Just saying in this world we live in most of us have been duped by someone one way or another before and we are careful to open up,but if there is a spark of chemistry, a relationship will build.Freedom to choose is a wonderful thing.
