its all because some hacker stole my identity. Now I'm in here every evening serving chowder and ice tea

I think it's just cause some REALLY cute kids and a damsel in distress coxed you into that get-up...and the waitress told you she would give you a 15% discount on your fish and chips meal.

Or either you had one too many barleys before walking the plank. drinker

You go, pirate boy! Arrragh, matey! tongue2

I haven't been here long, but long enough to take note this topic has not been broached in awhile perhaps.

I LOVE "quotes"...regardless of the source or meaning, as it is truly about one's perception. They serve as a source of learning, strength, humor...and hope at times for me.

So? How about we share a few of our favorite "quotes", shall we?

I'll start with a few of my faves, from Mr. Pooh...the very wise bear himself:

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. i'll always be with you.”

Or how about...

“If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

Or another that's pretty cool...

“The hardest part is what to leave behind, ... It's time to let go!”

I have numerous more to share, from various sources...but, share of few of yours, ok? I'll always remain a student and love to learn...

Oh, this is an easy question for me...

Just got back a week or so ago from vacationing at my "heart's soul"...Maine! love

All you can eat freshly steamed REAL Maine lobster and a bucket (or four) of steamed babyneck clams!

But, then again...nothing beats Ella's clam "chowda" at Cape Cod.

Thankfully...NOPE!

I tend to take things VERY slow, and I'm gifted/cursed with amazing intuition, especially when it comes to emotions and affairs of the heart.

oh no, no mOre wierd voice talk! every single time I do the "good voice" convo, some guy calls me sounding like mickey mouse, or kermit the frog!

DONT JINX ME!

HAHA!

Also, if I wanted to actually get to know someone, I'd rather do it this way than over the phone, because a voice can be distracting. I talked to a guy on the phone once and his voice was so annoying, that's all I could think about. It literally freaked the hell out of me (it was like he was talking through a wad of wet cotton or something, which he very well could have beensick) so I made up an excuse to get off the phone and never talked to him again.grumble

Oh, oh...OH! I SO agree with you on that one, Calleigh!

I was actually going to post a Part Deux to my comment in the "what first attracts you" thread...stating...their VOICE!!!

Someone's voice is VERY important to me!! Weird and shallow as it may sound, it's a critical component for me in attraction to another.

I NEVER say what I don't honestly feel, especially when it comes to something as important as "love"...so, my answer would be a big fat "NO"! ohwell

But, once I do share that deep emotion with someone...they tend to never ask to hear it from me, as I tell them OFTEN. flowerforyou

If I was that interested I would offer to go off site, then engage in voice chat. I would not give out my number nor would I just call someone on first email.

Ok, I get this. However.....I'm just wondering what is the difference in blocking your number and talking on the phone and having a voice chat online. Isn't that essentially the same thing?

Yes, somewhat...however, if it is a "scammer" or worse, they could potentially snag your IP addy in an online chat. SCARY! noway

I commend you, Intriguing...for taking on this task! flowerforyou

I don't make pizza often, but there is a bit of a skill to it, so I do suggest making a few dry-runs prior to the infamous "date".

IMHO, it's ALL about the crust, sauce and CHEESE...the add-on ingredients are a cinch, as long as they are FRESH!

Slowhand's receipe sounds similar to mine for the dough - use that one and YES...be CERTAIN you use FRESH dry yeast!!!!

My suggestion is DO NOT (repeat DO NOT) use bottled sauce! Here's my receipe for the sauce:

1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
500 grams can whole/chopped Italian plum tomatoes (or garden fresh tomatoes if you have them)
2 teaspoons concentrated tomato puree
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
3 teaspoons sugar
1 Pinch of oregano, basil and thyme

Gently saute the onion in a large pan in the oil until transparent. Add the tomatoes and bring to the boil. Once simmering, add the tomato puree, vinegar and sugar. Simmer for a full hour, using a WOODEN spoon to break up any tomato pieces. Add the pinches of herbs about 30 minutes into simmering. Strain the mix if there are still "chunks" of tomato in the sauce. Spread thinly on pizza crust. Add fresh ingredients and then BAKE that sucker at about 400 to your liking!

Now, regarding the cheese...I recommend grating a block of FRESH "strong/hard" cheese (mozzarella, provolone, etc). I tend to prefer a Gouda or Feta myself, but that may not be to your liking or hers. If you use the pre-grated crap, it's too thin and tends to get burnt during cooking. I tend to add the cheese about 1/2 way through baking...that way it gets really "gooey", but doesn't loose it's flavor.

Good luck with this..and just be sure to serve your date plenty of good wine BEFORE you serve it up. That way, if it sucks...she won't care! drinker laugh flowerforyou

^^^ laugh Guess you liked your response so much LastMan, you had to quote yourself, eh? laugh

NO, I would absolutely NOT call! However, if it intrigued the hypothetical person greatly, I would say call...BUT...be sure to use the "block your number" feature when the call was placed.

Appears that none of you (all 5 of you) in this scenario have no clue as to what you want...well, besides just sex that is. ohwell

Sounds like a classic case of emotional immaturity IMHO.

Good luck with all this. drinker

The worst thing ever said TO me:

A police officer's voice on the other end of the line in the wee hours of the morning..."we are very sorry to inform you of this ma'am, but...."

The worst thing ever said ABOUT me (well, it was also said TO me...):

"You are really stupid". ohwell
