Smiles, I favor private property ownership, but I dislike having large, powerful entities who 'ultimate decision makers' follow the ethics implied by the question "Whats in the best interest of the share holders?". I wonder what the world would be like if corporations were tied to indvidiuals from beginning to end - with the individual being ultimately responsible (liable even) for the companies activities. What if it was simply impossible for corporations to live for hundreds of years? What if a company could not shake off the consequence of 'bad actions' (such as public dis-approval) simply by changing ownership, or changing their branding? I realize that fitting these ideas into 'how things are' immediately creates impossibilities... thats where greater flexibility of mind comes into play - what if we had started off on very different directions with capitalism two or three hundred years ago, leading to a world in which the previous ideas might work? I personally believe capitalism is not a good invention, which would probably make me a socialist just for saying this and probably would create quiet a few people who will despise me for saying it here on mingle2. Oh well, then at least I know who enjoys my company. I think capitalism would be good if monopolies wasn't allowed to be created. Capitalism just doesn't allow the newbie a chance to open up a business without having a tyrannt corporation stomping all over him and driving him out of business before even having a chance to compete. Where is the creativity in this? Perhaps I have seen too many unfair practices and influences with mega corporations to have come to this conclusion. As the bulk of the population buys their Gap shirt for $20 or the pair of Nike shoes for $80 the Indonesian, Mexican, Chinese, Bangladesh, and Indian worker works 36 hours straight to go home with just enough money to buy some rice and salty fish for their family under a shack with no clean appliances for basic neccesseties. I favor small or mid size businesses that really offer quality service then a impersonal mega corporation that focuses on earnings that will drive out the common man to starvation. As I stated in my starting post, I would be the one looking for a different alternative that would bring in fair practice and opportunity for everyone to ensure equal rights to the common man. I am not convinced capitalism is the solution, although like you said, if it would have had a different direction two or three hundred years ago that ensured fairer practices and opportunities, I might have enjoyed capitalism very much. In otherwords I would prefer a "third way" invention. Maybe one day such a system might be created that will be popular amongst the many nations around the world. |

Really cool neighbors you have. We have in Miami little green parrots that I fascinate myself with. They are about 20 in my backyard that fight for space on palm trees. They have alot of personality and when they fly they all jump at the same time and go in circles to another tree. The funny thing is they always return back to the palm tree in my backyard in the morning time to make sure to wake me up each morning.

I think James should create his own spiritual foundation. He would have a huge amount of people to follow him. Jeannie also! I think you are pretty good at it also! I don't want followers. I don't have a clue where I am going. One of the reasons I did not have any children is because I just did not feel qualified for the job of raising them. Then by the time I felt qualified, I was too old. Another reason is that I interviewed women with children and 8 out of 10 of them said they loved their children but if they had it to do over again they would not have had children. Perhaps you did the right thing at the time. Perhaps you regret your decisions today. In the end they have been made. You can still have a child if you want. Adoption is an alternative, yet many don't feel comfortable with it. I have 23 of them that I visit every Friday at a foster home. but I am a child myself most of the time so it doesn't bother me at all. My life would have been very different if I had children, but I don't regret having none. (I think I had a lot in my past lives.) LOL I'm too old and too poor to adopt. No problem at all. I will find homes for my children one day The main thing is you are happy. That is most important. |

I find this interesting. You do realize that Japan and the European Union import more products from China than the US, correct? I think if we decided one day to stop importing from China we could survive without their crappy knock off goods. Now I have a question for you. How do you feel about your countries dependence on Russia for 44% of its natural gas? Not much you can do about that If they decide to turn off the spigot, is there? I am sure the Russians would never exploit that, would they? We all know the great relationship Germany and Russia have developed over the last 100 years. Disturbing indeed... In the end every country will be dependent on another country. What is important is that the dialogue for peace and prosperity should continue throughout the world. Germany loaned alot of money to the United States to help with its recession as of other things. You would be surprised how big that debt is. Of course it is nothing compared to what China or Japan lended, yet nevertheless it has been done. Who would think that would ever happen right, yet it did? Overall, I think a country that is no bigger then perhaps California is doing quiet well for itself. It was one of the first countries to get out of recession quickly. Russia is also dependent on Germany on a great deal of products. Afterall, Germany is one of the biggest exporters in the world. And that is impressive from a country that is very small. My question about being disturbed about China making everything for the US, is not to criticize Americans, but to make aware that perhaps something isn't right. Many Americans agree with it, and want to do something about it. My interest is to see alternatives of what can be done to ensure prosperity for your country. And as a note, I don't find it disturbing to have good relations with Russia. Perhaps you are still set in the Cold War Era. |

In the end what is important is you can live with yourself and enjoy the time given to you regardless on what Jesus did, was, and is now. Good luck on preaching what you believe to be true. My post was about epistemology, not religion. There is a difference. You haven't understood my point, I think you are jumping to conclusions based on what you THINK my point is. My point is that truth exists, therefore a statement like "Jesus is whatever each individual wants him to be." is nonsense. Again I think I was fair with my replies and very friendly at the same time. Each individual has a different opinion about Jesus that THEY believe to be true as a truth. I do not find that ridiculous, yet you do. Whatever you believe as the "truth" about the history of this individual is yours to keep forever. And as I have said before, if that works for you best to keep you going each and everyday then this is a good thing. What you find ridiculous might be very serious for the other individual that takes it to heart to be happy in his life. Perhaps you can at least grant the individual his peace and solitude in his belief regardless if you don't agree. This would be called tolerance and leads to a greater chance of creating peace around the world if you practice it. Again good luck on what you believe is true as the "truth" on the history of Jesus's path, lessons, and life. |

And the truth lies in the bible is what you are saying. Can this be correct? You see people who believe in something usually believe that is the truth for them. Of course people who have different beliefs will call it incorrect or wrong. A contradiction at its best. Could you show me where in the post that I said that? I'm not stating what the truth is, but I will and you already know what I'll say. What I'm saying is that truth exists and shouldn't be ignored. You did not state that. I am asking you if this truth you are talking about is from the bible? Actually it doesn't really matter to me. I am sure that many people have a "truth" about Jesus. The problem is that not everyone will agree. That is something you will have to live with. In the end what is important is you can live with yourself and enjoy the time given to you regardless on what Jesus did, was, and is now. Good luck on preaching what you believe to be true. |

Jesus is whatever each individual wants him to be. Assuming there is no absolute truth. But there is absolute truths, therefore the truth of Jesus' existence and purpose must also have an absolute truth. Jesus can't be "whatever", therefore he must be an "is". "Jesus is real" or "Jesus is fake", both cannot be truth. I hope for your sake this is true. Unfortunately many have a hard time trying to accept this truth you offer of Jesus. Some believe as a truth that Jesus was real as a human being trying to change the minds of his people to resolve situations in a different fashion that doesn't involve violence. Some believe he is the son of God as the bible teaches Some believe he was God. Some believe he never existed and was written by somekind of Roman. Forgot his name at the moment. Some believe he is being confused with a different prophet. So there is your list of different beliefs. What you believe is something you are sharing with many other followers. If it makes you happy then that is important. I'm sorry, you didn't understand my meaning. Yes, lots of people believe different things about Jesus. Those are just beliefs. My point is that there is an absolute truth. Maybe it's not even known. But there is an absolute truth. So you can believe whatever you want about Jesus, but there is a truth. I believe that the truth can be known, but that's another subject. My point is that "Jesus is whatever each individual wants him to be." is a fallacious statement, because a truth does exist and belief does not make truth. And the truth lies in the bible is what you are saying. Can this be correct? You see people who believe in something usually believe that is the truth for them. Of course people who have different beliefs will call it incorrect or wrong. A contradiction at its best. |

Jesus is whatever each individual wants him to be. or perhaps go with what the bible claim him to be ....the son of god if that works for the individual then be my guest. unfortunetly those individuals form armies to force it to work for them Very true and still today in my opinion. I hope such a reign of belief will come to an end and that a new era that represents true peace will shed a light for generations to come that doesn't involve atrocities, hatred, predjudice, racism, and guilt shed upon its people. |

Anyway if Jesus is the son of God for folks then so be it. It makes them happy and that is all I would like to see. People laughing, enjoying their faith whatever that is, and creating peace of mind and heart with everyone around them. If that's the way it actually worked out in practice it would be great. Unfortunately that's not how it ends up working out. It can become quite hostile and a basis for extreme bigotry. Even when I used to be a Christian I found myself defending Jesus from the "Christians" who used him as an excuse to judge and bully other people. I was bullied myself by Christians simply because I didn't interpret Jesus as a monster. Try telling a Christian that you're not a sinner and see how that goes over. Yes according to the Bible Jesus washed away our sins. I guess they didn't believe that part. I think the reason that most decent people find Jesus attractive in the first place is precisely because he denounced the old teachings of Yahweh. People didn't like the idea of having to stone sinners to death. There's the parable of Jesus at the well telling people who are without sin to cast the first stone. Suppose I was there and stood up and told Jesus that I am without sin and then asked him if HE wants me to throw a stone at the woman. After all, who's idea was it to stone sinners to death in the first place? Supposedly that was a commandment from God. So does God want us to stone sinners to death or not? It's stupid. You have a god commanding us to stone sinners to death and then turning around and acting like it was our frigg'in idea in the first place. I don't want to stone anyone to death. So does God want us to stone people to death or not? Yahweh says YES. Jesus says NO. Sounds like two entirely different opinions to me. A God that can't even make up his mind? The New Testament tries to make out like it's the mob's idea to stone the sinners to death. But that was supposed to be God's directive! The whole story is an oxymoron. A God that teaches people to behave in such a manner and then acts like it was their idea! And then he has the audacity to say that he has not come to change the laws and that not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from law? There's something horribly wrong with the whole story if you ask me. I think Jesus just tried to teach people some civility in spite of their horrible religion and ended up being crucified for it. Then later they used him as a dead patsy to prop it back up again by writing the so-called 'gospels' that clearly contain fabrications as well as outright made-up lies. The book clearly contains lies. There can be no doubt about that whatsoever. Matthew and Luke told totally different accounts of what happened to Judas. One claims he toss the money down in the temple and went off and hanged himself, the other one claims that Judas accepted the money, bought a field, and died from a fall. Somebody is making things up! These authors clearly can't be trusted to know what they are talking about. They lie. The book is clearly not the infalliable word of any God. Sorry, but it's right there in the doctrine. Very true. History has shown many atrocities and still today concerning the faith of Christianity. I hope one day that such followings will end and a new era called the practice of true peace will continue that Jesus was trying to impose onto his people. |

Goodnight Quietman_2009. Enjoy the smoke and have a good sleep. Tommorow we will discuss why leaders of countries don't have their debates with a good cooked meal anymore.
I always thought "food" is an international language that brightens spirits to have better results in the end How much of a difference it would make if food was served at the debates. |

One thing China is worried about is the value of the dollar. I see it every week on Asian news how they don't like the idea of the falling value of the dollar. They want to make a profit with those treasure bonds in the end.
The question is can the US compete with the Euro Dollar. Can they remain innovative, creative, and inventive to keep the world interested in their commodities and marketing strategies? This is something we will observe that is for sure. |

or what if the bible had it all wrong and Jesus was actually a woman! I am getting to imaginative here aren't I. Anyway if Jesus is the son of God for folks then so be it.
