It's Greensburg,KS. I am checking it out now. Very interesting at first glance.

Opps...I was close laugh

I am researching something now that you may find interesting. Jayne too since she lives in PA.

Licking and Porter Townships in Clarion County, Pennsylvania made history, by adopting ordinances that eliminate a corporations ability to claim ANY constitutional rights as a “person”.

This is something that the framers of the constitution intended but corporations started eroding the power and meaning of that wonderful document, almost before the ink was dry. Very interesting reading actually.
If your forefathers were alive today they would be absolutely furious with both Democrats and Republicans. Corporations do not have rights, people have rights.

Wonderful history "The Declaration of Independence" that has been perverted by big business and banking interests.

Sorry, I will kick myself off of my soapbox.

Chris, are you into the enviromental thing?

Very much so. I have worked and trained candidates federally for The Green Party and campaigned for Liberal's with environmental platforms. Also worked for a carbon offset company in 2008/2009. I am what is now referred to as an "Eco-Capitalist. It is awesome you taking an environmental course. Lots of money to be made doing good work in this field.

ALAS...I got my degree in teaching (no jobs now) but had a ball with the classes...took several. If I was younger I would LOVE to go into Forestry!!!!!!!!

I got out of politics because of the corruption and trading carbon offsets is not the best answer either. I do have the skills to provide Greenhouse Gas Management and can help small and medium sized business save money by being more environmentally aware. I am saving up for my ISO accreditation. Not sure if I will make it a full time career but it is one of the things I want to do part time.

Teaching is great. I think that is a wonderful choice.

We had a whole town in Kansas called Greensboro (Heard of it?) that was completely flattened by a Tornado. When they rebuilt, they all went Green. Had some excellent documentaries about it....maybe you can see them on the web.

I will certainly look into Greensboro,KS. Thanks. I am always looking for real world examples of success. Since I am not married and have no children, I have a tremendous amount of time on my hands so I have tried to do something positive in my spare time. After quitting my voluntary, unpaid political career, I devote my time volunteering and learning about how clean air, clean water is smart and profitable. I dabble in quite a few things but not an expert in any one of them.

Get ready to dance Chris....we all do the happy dance when we flip this thing...

Meaning that we reach 1000 posts and go to the next thread to start over. There are 50 pages I believe in each thread

I can dance. It is only painful to WATCH me dance. You know those key chains with the skeleton that have the articulating bones? Shake that up and down and that is what I look like dancing.

is there also one that starts with a B?

Breakwater Restaurant at The Waterside Inn? Another awarding winning restaurant but not Italian specifically, seafood mostly but very fine. I don't know of any fine Italian restaurants staring with a "B"

ok Thanks Chris.
do you live near the shopping channel?

You mean the headquarters for "The Shopping Channel"? Not far by bus or car but it would be a long walk. So no, not really but like I always say, "nothing is far if you have the time." So then yes, everything is close.

Chris...isn't there a really excellent Italian Restaurant in Missisagua?

You are probably referring to "Aielli Ristorante" which has won awards. I have never been. I spend most of my time in Port Credit and visit restaurants on Bloor St in Etocicoke (west toronto).

OMG Mary. RA and Fibromyalgia. That is terrible. I have been helping a young friend who is only 37 and she was being treated for Lyme but now the doctor is not sure what she has. She is in terrible chronic pain so I can understand a little what you must be going through.
My friend is fortunate that she is seeing one of the best doctors in Canada. My sister-in-law is a nurse and worked with this Doctor in Montreal and she says he is as good as it gets.
It breaks my heart. I hope you have good care and support. Small comfort but important.

Thank you Chris. I was first dianosed when I was 21 so I have not known a day in my whole adult life without pain. As you get to know me, you will come to see how stubborn and strong willed I am. I WILL NOT let this get me down. Oh I have my pity party days, but mostly, I just keep on going. I went 2 years what doctors told me for a hip replacement because I wanted to finish college first....laugh Life is too short, ya know? I do miss dancing tho...used to love to power walk too, was addicted to it, now after hip and foot surgery I can no longer do them. Oh well... now I just sit around getting rounder from lack of exercise and meds...which dosn't help....I know, I know!

This is sort of long.

Wow, I do understand about strength. I have seen my friend be so strong. You both (and many others) amaze me that you keep fighting in the face of adversity. I hurt my back years ago and allowed myself to get out of shape. I was very active but let the body go. So while experiencing my friends pain vicariously through her, I wrecked my car (I was fine) and since then i walk, bus or ride my bike. I am feeling amazing now but i did live 10 years in pain. NO WAY it compares to you nor to Lisa but I have a very small understanding. This is why I now try to take care of myself and stay active.

People like you inspire me. One more note, even though I see her regularly, I have kept every single email where she talks about her pain. This way there is a record of her struggle and I plan on writing about her experience but not sure yet in what context exactly. So earlier today, Deb (kidztales I think) friended me on Mingle and asked me if I was interested in learning more about writing since my profile says i am "an aspiring writer." I gladly accepted by sending her a very long email explaining where I was in relation to writing.

So in conclusion, maybe there is a reason I have connected specifically with this group. I feel real love here something I have been seeking for sometime. Not relationship love but true neighborly love.

A Teddy Bear is a friend so rare.
His disposition's sunny.
He'll be discrete and only eat
Imaginary honey.

His big brown eyes they sympathise
He knows just how you feel!
Some people say he's just pretend...

BUT US LUCKY ONES KNOW HE'S REAL!!!!!!

Ha, ha..that's beautiful. I'm touched.

That was total. 12K there. I had a nice lunch and a relaxing low impact massage with this really interesting foot massage device that you stand on. It has dimples and vibrates which increases circulation. Really is an amazing machine. Then 12K back. The ride is usually about 6K but I took the long relaxing route. I love cycling.

Man..at the rate you are going you could almost cycle to Kitchener. laugh

Hmmmm...I could if I had all weekend. I biked to Orangeville a few times but a stay overnight at an old high school friends of mine.

its only 45mins by car...isn't it?

45 min to an hour. Not all that far really. Like Steven Wright says, "Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time."

This is the massage circulation machine I mentioned earlier.

I sell part time and have free access to a few very wonderful low impact massage machines like shown above. They really are nice machines.

Having a bit of fun waiting for y'all to show up. I really got to stay away from the political threads though. Just nasty in there.
