i'm thinking what should i eat tonight?

Cheesecake, not whipped cream! Uh... please be safe about it! Not everyone likes being coated in cheesecake, I'd assume!

I think this one gets turned around sometimes due to a fear that the research will be used for less than altruistic means. Any person who is looking at this from a biblical point of view would find many reasons to support the idea that, used in medicine, stem cells would be a good thing.
However, there are two arguments made that I know of. I included an argument against both of these quibbles.
1: That we will take the research and use it to make diseases for warfare, or to assist in troop cloning.
Response: It is not the tool that does evil, but the one who
wields it. The research is not to blame for this one!
2: That god has the sole provision over life, and that we should not create it.
Response: God did create the life, he created the original
cells, and he created the ability for us to research this.

As to using embryos... that's just not cool. Unless someone is seriously collecting them upon a woman's cycle... and again... not cool!

Oh. You mean like OBAMA exploited the gullible's fear of REPUBLICANS ... ? Or CONSERVATISM? Or AMERICANISM? THAT kind of 'exploitation' ... ?

Yep.

Would the other side do the same? Already have.

Politicians corrupt and self serving? Na, never....

Dragoness,

It would appear some folks welcome, and possibly enjoy being manipulated and played by their masters.

Go figure!!!

Welcome it? Enjoy it? You must have failed in your attempt to read me. Now, if you are denying that the Democrat party does not use fear tactics, slander, and lies as needed about their opponents, I would say you have nicely summed up your own attitude. I recognize that both parties are corrupt, guilty, and full of self serving wind bags. That was my statement, and I hope this has clarified it for you. Maybe you will like this one better!
-- 99.95% of politics is saying something you know nothing about, the rest is yelling loudly and pocketing 'donations' and 'gifts'. --

writing a letter to a friend in Scotland, trying to decide what to say. Wishing I could just go and see her for a couple of weeks, travel about and have fun with it all.

Sounds like it would be a fun trip! Hope the letter goes well!

I used to be very shy. Then I realized that if someone didn't care for who I was... I was no worse off for knowing that! Still, it's easy to get that shy feeling if you find someone attractive.

Yo, if she's falling all over the rude guy she's not really worth worrying about. She either is never going to want a nice guy, or needs to grow up to the point where she does. Either way, you shouldn't change yourself or get frustrated that she isn't looking for you!

I want a brown horse. I've had enough white horses to last a lifetime.....

yeah..what ever happened to that nice guy that was gonna take me to his castle...LA..you ran him off..damn it girlfriend, he may have been my knight. laugh laugh

Eh, if he ran off without you he wasn't your knight.

Now, LA running after a horse with enough speed and ferocity to chase him away... yeah, he wasn't much of a knight. She's only mean to the bad guys! laugh

Let me ask my grandma. She still hangs out in the horse community.

I can see what's for sale for ya!

It's not a bad idea for the schools to teach etiquette, but unless the parents reinforce it, it won't be effective. It does need to start at home. Too many parents these days want everyone else to do their jobs for them.

I agree, it does START at home, but school is a great environment to Re inforce it.

I agree. In other words, it seems to be backwards. It starts at home and the school can help reinforce it. Not that they teach it and the parents think that is good enough

Only one problem with this... who's going to teach all those parent's who never bothered to learn?

The kids

A little of that might happen. However, I think first we need to change how we as a society act. Instead of this 'me' culture we have, we need to develop a culture of respect for others and concern with doing what is right. I guess this is a start, but unless we have a big culture shift I do not see it passing to many other people. Sadly.

Start by example, but I can see where you are coming from. We can all learn from others if we just pay attention and make wise decisions.

I try. Not that I do so perfectly, but I do small things like holding doors for people. I get a lot of 'thank you's... and then a lot of doors slammed in my face! Gotta love it!

ohwell You know, those white horses are awfully hard to find! It's just not common!

I think those knights and princes just had stock in a company that makes bleach!

But he's soooooooooooooooooooooo cute. I rarely see cute guys on here. The last one I saw has a woman, so he's off limits.....I'll just stare at him, no harm in staring...pitchfork

Oooooh? Well, don't stare too long. Your eyes might stick like that, and then you'd have a very odd time explaining to people why you were always staring! laugh
