During World War Two there was much fighting between the Imperial Japanese forces and the allies in New Guinea.


Many Japanese men were taken prisoner. One such prisoner was Fumio Harada. Harada was a Shi-to Ryu Karate student before he joined the Army and one day he defended himself against a gaurd. He used what is called a Hiji or Elbow strike against his attacker.


Harada was put in a 6ft by 6ft cell in solitary confinment.


During the first couple of days Harada was scared and confused by his surroundings. The cell was in total darkness which made it even more disturbing to the mind.


To keep his sanity Harada started performing his Shi-to Ryu Kata every day, time and time again until he collapsed from exhaustion. Harada did this for over 12 hours a day every day for nearly 2 years in total darkness.


One day the Officer in charge says release Harada from his cell. When the gaurds brought Harada into the daylight his eye's wept tears from the pain. His eye's soon adjusted to the light and he suddenly lashed out at the gaurds using moves that he had performed in the Kata for many months in total darkness.


Harada managed to escape the poorly secured prison into the New Guinea Jungle.


I was fortunate enough to meet Harada in 1995 on a trip to New Guinea, he told me that the performing of Kata every day developed his Ki to such a level he felt that he soon would leave his confinment even if they didnt want him to.


It is rumored that Harada met a friendly tribe of Natives and taught them his Shi-to Ryu Karate. In 1998 Australian troops in New Guinea on a flood & landslide relief mission reported seeing natives performing what they described as Karate moves during a traditional ceremony.Were they from the tribe that embraced Harada?


Even though Harada was locked up in a cell with no light for 2 years he became the master of his art. His Chi was flowing so well that when he was released from the cell his power so so overcoming he could escape a POW prison.

Excellent suggestion my friend. I will be contacting World Tae Kwon Do Federation and notifying the leadership of her inexcusable behavior. I have the incident on surveillance video and would gladly provide the evidence if necessary.

I noticed quite a few people on this site with no experience in site security chiming in and questioning my security measures. I have over 13 years of security experience working and running nightclubs in the Los Angeles and Bay area. I started off as a bouncer to pay my way through UCLA.

Unfortunately, in any nightclub a time will come when a patron must be asked to leave. Management has an obligation to its employees and other customers not to have an obnoxious or potentially dangerous customer on the premises.

Most patrons, when treated with courtesy, will leave will little or no outburst. If the customer hasn’t been violent, it’s sometimes best to give the patron a little space after making the request to leave and give them a moment to collect themselves, quickly finish their drink or cigarette and move out with their dignity intact.

If the customer becomes verbally belligerent you must resist using force to physically remove the patron. There is no law that authorizes club owners or bouncers to physically manhandle an unwanted customer unless in self-defense or in an effort to take someone into custody for committing a crime. Sometimes the ejected customer will vent using profanity on the staff while preparing to leave. Verbal abuse is not against the law in most states unless they are threatening or fighting words. In a heated situation everyone needs time and space for all parties to cool off. It’s best to let this person exit without standing over them and once outside firmly warn them not to return in the future. In many states you can issue a trespass warning to the ejected party that formally notifies them that they are subject to being arrested for trespass if they return. In some states, security can use minimal force to remove a trespasser once they have been duely warned.

If a patron becomes combative or assaults someone they must be immediately removed from the premises. Reasonable physical force may be used to prevent the attacker from injuring anyone else including you. Reasonable force begins with holding force or just enough to overcome the aggression and then can escalate to meet the level aggression. This is called the use of force continuum.. Punching or kicking the ejected patron is offensive rather than defensive force and is not reasonable.

That being said if you assault me, my employees or one of my clients in my place of business regardless of whether your are a 6ft 8inch 355 pound gang member or 5ft 4inch 105lb swimsuit model, you will pay the price my friends.

My first puppy's name was Luke, and he was not really a puppy, but a stray dog I sort of adopted, he was the only one there for me I was young, he walked with me to school through some of the most dangerous neighbor hoods and always was waiting for me when I got home. I remember one time the mailman maced him because Luke startled him when I opened the door and he ran out crying. Then one day, he was gone, I came home from school like always, and he was not there. Here's an early fighting story of mine from when I was about 16 or 17. I was driving to my destination, listening to tunes and this jerk starts tail gaiting me. When I look in the rear view mirror, he's got this tough guy look on his face. Everyone's a tough guy in there car. Kind of like everyone's a tough guy on the computer.

So anyway, I decided to teach this stiff a lesson. I slowed down to about 15 mph, grandma style. Of course he's steaming, but he's too stubborn to go around. He's eyeballing me at the light, pissed off. After it turns green I do the same thing, but slow it down to 10. Finnaly he's had enough and passes.

On the way by he's running his mouth and I'm looking at him with a big smile on my face. Rods are exchanged and then he motions for me to meet him on the side of the road.

We both pull over and get out for the confrontation. He starts out with some pleasantries like, "I'll **** you up mother f*cker!" "Anytime you're ready", I say. "I've got a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. I'll kill you man", he says. This was before the ufc was popular. Back then, karate and tae keon do men still believed the martial arts crap they watched on tv, like The Karate Kid. I got srtaight up in his face and looked him in the eye and said, " I wonder if I could kick your ***?" "C'mon", he said and then started bouncing up and down like Muhaamed Ali.

I took a fighting stance. He came at me with a hard round house kick. Like in Sever-Bossett, on the second kick, I timed it and shot in and planted his *** on the ground. I think it was here that it occurred to him that Tae Kwon Do doesn't teach ground fighting. Being a wrestling champ in high school, I had a great ground fighting background. I pounded him for a while and then flipped him on his stomach and applied a chokehold. After about 30 seconds, he was turning blue. "If you wnat to quit, show me by tapping the ground", I said. He started tapping the ground. It's funny, I had not seen my first ufc, but I already understood what a tapout was. I released him and threw one more shot to his chin for good measure. He was in dreamland. "What do you think of Tae Kwon Do now?", I said. Later that night I went home and told my ex-girlfriend Stacy about what happened. We had sex. Brawls, girles and beer. What else is there?

I'm a club promoter in Los Angeles and usually spend 3 to 4 nights a week in my club. Usually it's a cool scene, but sometimes there are trouble makers. We have bouncers that control things , but they can't see everything and sometimes I end up dealing with something myself.
This one night I noticed this guy with a bloody nose and this chick who had punched him was cursing him. I went over to find out what happened and the chick was saying this guy was groping the girl she was with and so on.

I said, "Look, we,ve got a strict rule on this shi*. You fight, you're out. Your'e welcome to come back in the future, but tonight you're out."

The chick exploded when she heard this. "I guess it's ok for a women to be assaulted in this club. I guess we should stand around and do nothing. "

"What you're supposed to do is get a bouncer ...", I said but she interrupted me in mid sentence. "My friend was getting her *** grabbed. I'm a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kown Do. I use restraint, but I won't allow anyone to attack my friends."

"Wait a minute", I said, "if you used restraint, why is this guy standing here with a broken nose?" This really pissed her off. "You asshol*", she said, "I told you 3 fuc*ing times he assaulted my friend". At this point both of these xxxxxes were up in my face cursing and calling me names.

"Alright ladies", I said, "it's time to go."
"I want to talk to your boss", she responded.
"I am the boss around here. I'm in charge and you're leaving."
"You better call up your boss because if you touch me I'll break you nose too."

This was a mistake. I don't like being threatened. First I turned to the guy with a bloody nose. "Go tell them that I sent you over for a free drink. You get to stay. How do you 2 like them apples?" He walked off with a smile on his face and the TKD chick was furious.

"He stays we stay mother fu*ke*!" With that I grabbed her by the arm to escort her out and she punched me in the mouth hard enough to bust my lip up. Now I don't train martial arts as much as I use too, but I take my steroids and hit the weights hard core. I tackled this chick like a linebacker and I thought about pounding her out like I would a man, but I was a gentleman and didn't throw a punch. Instead I put a vicious head lock and started choking hard. "Want to play with men b*tch?" I whispered in her ear. "No matter how hard you train in Tae Kwon Do you will never be able to live in my world."

By this time the bouncers had arrived and I let them have the chick. When she got her wind back and the bouncers picked her up, she started cursing me again. I just grinned at her because we both knew she had learned a lesson. There are some men a karate chick can mess with and there are some they can't.

I know 2 guys who found their wives through A Foreign Affair. One of them is a pretty good friend and he scored. He met a 24-year-old hottie on one of their tours to Russian and Ukraine. After a few more trips back and almost 2 years later he got her a fiancé visa and brought her to the US. They’ve been married for over 3 years now and they're doing great. Last night I decided to pull a DVD out of my collection that I don't sit down and watch too often. I grabbed Ghost World starring Thora Birch, Steve Buscemi, and Scarlett Johansson.

The movie is categorized as a comedy, but it's a very subtle kind of comedy. It's funny, but you almost feel bad for laughing, because it's pretty dramatic too. Another one of the things I enjoy about this movie is that it leaves room for the viewer to do some interpretation. Not everything is spelled out for you.

The acting is good all around, and the story is enjoyable. I would recommend this movie to my friends.
