That lady Flo is exactly the type of people we need.
I have a Columbian friend who went in and took the test, passed it and was denied. They told her she was a month, 1 month early and had to pay and retake the test again.
They could have advised her of that. She also, could have double checked and asked friends to read it over for her.
Short version, she's done and is now a Citizen.

It's just the feel I get. Mr Walker, I don't believe, would actively take a physical stand if someone he knew was detained in his presence. I think, he would think only of his own well being and safety and abandon his countryman.
You see, I'm an older man, I don't have the fear of losing my comfort or security.
A young man will think of self-preservation first and will consider all he could lose.

Then, the only way you've actually helped your homeboys is with English lessons and a lot of talk.
What's the risk in that?
When I go back to visit my in-laws in Mexico this Thanksgiving, I will again risk prison by teaching them the process of organizing and becoming unionized.
My Spanish ain't that great so, they provide an interpretor. When we meet, it has to be in secret and there is always a chance of informants.
You risk nothing and probably would turn and walk away if one of your homeboys were being taken down.

That was just a question.
Would you jeopardize all you have put into becoming a citizen, by breaking the law yourself? IE, Harboring, hiding, transporting Illegal Immigrants.
Fear vs True convictions.
How deep are your convictions?

So Mr Walker,
You condone Illegal activities, would harbor and transport Illegal Immigrants? You will jeopardize your all you have worked for for your crusade?

This might help identify companies that practice illegal hiring practices.

http://www.wehirealiens.com/ You can add companies also.

I totally agree about the part of fining and jailing employers who hire Illegals.

Along with that is deport all the Illegals. Once back in their country give them the opportunity to do the application process to become Legal Temporary Workers.

Isn't everyone here aware that once a migrant becomes a legal resident, they won't work the agriculture industries?

We need Temporary Migrant Workers.

From the news I've read and people I've talked to, Canada is begging for good, strong hard workers and I hear they pay more for under the table than in the US.

The people are speaking now and for some unknown reason, the Government is listening.

Local, State and Federal laws are enforced on Legal or born and raised Citizens here every day. Those other law breakers are arrested, prosecuted and if found guilty are imprisoned. They're split apart from their families. Do you feel for those criminals also?

I say criminal, because criminals are the ones that break a law. The families of the Illegals have a choice. They can choose to go with the ones that broke the law.

It would only take a small portion of what is being spent on maintaining the Illegal to support groups in Mexico, and there are many, who want radical change there. They want a better economy. Why aren't you helping them?

Again, they broke the law coming here through illegal channels. Believe it or not they all are and have been well aware of what could happen if they were caught.

During the time I lived in Mexico, I learned a lot about NAFTA. What I learned, I discussed with many of the workers who work the lines en Las Maquilas. I risked prison by doing that. I told them how big the difference was between what they made per day and what the imported management made. I showed them, using Hoffa's history on how to organize and strike. I hope they are still considering and growing in their numbers.

What are you doing to support those types of efforts?

They can have a better country.

lonelywalker,
You throw that word hate around like you know what you're doing. A lot of your posts show it. You show hate for all that is American.
If my wife somehow, lost her privilege to be here, I would have the option to go to where she is. If I loved and was committed to her, I would do just that. It's very easy to commute from a border town into the US to go to work. I have many friends in Del Rio who do that. I even did it for 2 years.
I don't hate you. I understand, if you, yourself are an Illegal, the frustration you feel about BICE knocking on your door. I imagine it would be stressful. However, you knew the deal when you decided to enter a country illegally, there could be consequences. I didn't create your problem and I do wish there could be a Temporary Migrant Worker Program in force that would allow the worker(alone), to come in, temporarily. Do the job, take their money and bing it back home with them.

i am one of those american women that got pregnant by an illegal, and i'm not complaining i go to work everyday and i raise and support her i am not on welfare, and i do not regret any of it i loved...love her father,he's a good person,a hard worker, and a great son to his parents, for them he risked his life at an early age so that his aging parents, who are unable to work anymore could have some basic HUMAN needs such as food and healthcare...so on that note VIVA LA RAZA TLW...america needs more people like you.

Ms. Reba,
You claim to love this man and yet you are advertising for a man. If he has passed please, accept my sympathies.
If he's alive and this love you have for him is so great, why are you not with him?
I have Mexican Brother-in-laws. If either of them were so inclined to work here, I would do all in my power to help them.I cannot break the law. You cannot break the law. We would get arrested and be held accountable. Why would the law be applicable to one and voided for another?

One last thing. I'm going to make a prediction. Once California's harvesting and processing is finished for the year, the Governor will decide to follow suit with many other States and allow BICE to do it's job. He wouldn't cut his own political throat. For California, it's all about the money, not the poor Illegal. And yes, I have lived and worked in Ca. I know it's tomato, onion, fruit and other vegetable processing time there.

They are aging and dying off.
They are attempting to bring in immigrants to care for them and do the jobs the younger generation refuses to do.
A lot of Canadians who are working class, and professionals are working in the US, India, and China, legally, for better money. From what I've read, China, for the professional is the most preferred area to work.

I'm referring to the ones already here. Some, and I know it's a small number, 4,000, accounted for, have already been admitted as refugees claiming economic oppression from Mexico.

I am posting this to help Illegal Immigrants headed North. I am not advising or condoning any illegal activities! Just passing on information!
Illegal Immigrant/Refugee. When you get to the border, your status changes to refugee.
Canadian law states:The applicant has all the rights afforded under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including mobility rights.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada;
The Refugee System: Refugee claims in Canada

Canada offers refugee protection to people in Canada who fear persecution or who may be at risk of torture or cruel and unusual treatment or punishment, and are unwilling or unable to return to their home country.

If you feel that you will be persecuted or otherwise at risk as mentioned above, if you return to your home country, you can seek protection in Canada as a Convention Refugee or a person in need of protection. To be eligible, you must apply from within Canada or at a point of entry to Canada.

Best of luck to you all.

Granted, we will need legal temporary,(Key word, migrant workers.
When they get a MICA, resident work card, they no longer want to, or will, work the migrant jobs.
We need a plan for legals to come in, temporarily, and then, go back home. Not taking up permanent residence here.
One idea is issue the Temporary Card to the workers only. Not allow the family to come with them.
As it is, the Illegal works under the table and the wife applies for food stamps, TANF, and Medicaid. That is Fraud and should be prosecuted. The rest of us would be.
I would urge all legal US Citizens to call, email, fax, etc. your State Reps and demand they uphold and enforce all the laws and require proof of legal residence when applying at DHS.
