Do you believe in Karma??

6 pages so far of real conversation about a usually very touchy
subject.. i think that's very very cool... i've been involved with online community for a LONG time and it is refreshing to find people actually talking and not defending or attacking on the boards.. lets see how long it last LOL :) |

Do you believe in Karma??

First of all, nice topic post!
For me, Karma exist. I don't think it's really possible to prove, it's just something you want to believe or not. Maybe one day it could be proven once we evolve to a state that can understand it, but until then, I don't think we can explain it yet It's like asking a cavemen to explain electricity. We just don't get it (yet) on that level. But the reason I believe in it is because it makes me focus on things that are better for my life. If I think about consequences of my actions a little more, I'm usually a better human being which in turn makes me feel better and so my life is "better". So if Karma makes your life better, believe in it, if it doesn't and you feel guilty or fearful, don't believe in it and never think about. |

Why I Hate E-Harmony

I think most pay dating sites are by nature kinda scammy. Do they
really want you to find love or do they just want you to keep paying their crazy membership fees? One guy who went on a Match.com date is now suing the company because his date admitted that she worked for Match.com. Another site is being sued because customers are claiming that they had staff send people winks and emails to keep them on the site (and continuing to pay) According to eHarmony's stats, for everyone person that gets married, 999 do not. That's their own stats! They are also the most expensive. You can read more about the dating industry at www.weattract.com. They have a whitepaper all about it. That's another reason we are different. We are free and we are building things that we think will really help people find what they want. Our motivations are 100% aligned with you. We wnt you to find someone, and it's ok if you leave the site because we hope you will tell your friends that our site really worked. Isn't that how it should be? We think so. |

wow. that's borderline evil.. fake people are the worst.
to the original author, i think getting nervous is totally natural and CXPoet had some great advice. i also think "meeting" people online has a lot of benefits. i would never have a purely "online" relationship, but online can definately augment rl (real life) |

i think there is always the risk of technologies being used in ways we
(or the majority) don't agree with, especially with "newer" technology. when the first VCRs came out, it was primarily used to watch "adult" films. webcams are going through the same thing now ... we hope to utilize webcam tech or any tech/idea/etc that helps people connect. we're trying to figure out how webcams can help, if you have ideas, we'd love to hear them too... chat has gone through enough cycles to be ok for the masses, i think webcams are right around the corner. but for now.. enjoy friends... we think "friend dating" makes a lot of sense... meet that single friend of a friend...etc. have fun! |

We're looking at web cam technologies too :)

Chat is coming up next most likely

Hi all,
We just launched the friends feature on JustSayHi.com. Basically, if everyone invited their single friends to the site, then there would be more people you can meet. So make it a goal to invite 3 or more friends this week and help everyone find someone nice. If you have any feedback, please reply here or in our Feedback forum. Thanks! -Mike and Vanchau |

If you click on a profile and it goes to your page.. then it means that
user has de-activated or is a spammer, or something like that. If you click again and you see them, please let me know so we can debug it... |

Report Abuse is also in the works :)

You can also click on BLOCK USER while reading a message (its at the
bottom) and it will immediately block that user too |

This is why we created the BLOCKUSER function ... :)

That's great idea! We are really hoping that once we release the
feature, the JustSayHi community will tell us new and cool ways to use it. We have some ideas of our own like "Who should I date feature"... You select a bunch of profiles and ask your friends who they think would be best for you. They would get a special inbox message and could vote etc. You could expand this concept to any kind of "let my friends help me decide on..." a date, an outfit, an idea, etc etc We just think that friends should be part of the whole online dating experience.. it's a part of the real world dating experience, so why not online? We can't wait to hear your ideas! |

Our friends feature is coming next week. You'll be able to add friends
to your profile. Think about it... if everyone on the site invited their single friends, then that means there are more people to potentially meet through friends and friends of friends. It's called FRIEND DATING and we're really excited about having it on JustSayHi.com |
