Some people are just plain vain. But if you meet someone who truley likes or loves you, nothing else will matter because they will be willing to offer emotional support and just be with you. I am sure there are people out there who will do that, it's just a matter of finding that someone who isn't so self involved. Good Luck :)

Guess all I can say is do what you are doing. Post in the forums and have a good profile. Think of your profile as your resume and the people are employers. You have to sell yourself so to speak. And don't you men take that literally. hahahaha I think you understand. My profiles always suck because I am not good at blabbing about myself but look at some of them and maybe it could help you.

That is so true. My father is that way as well, always the strong one regardless of what is happening around him. Sometimes it breaks my heart to know that there is that stigma that hasn't yet gone away. The "OLD TIME" attitude that one sex is meant to be strong and the other weak. When I read the poem to my friend he had a tear in his eye. So I presume he appreciated it although I wasn't about to ask.

Awww sorry. It will be very hard on you. My grandmother passed away on Dec 12 2009 of cancer. I still have troubles with it. If you ever need to talk or vent frusteration, you are more then welcome to message me. Hugs.

I wrote this poem for a dear friend in the military who was not only battling in Afghanistan but battling cancer. He will be remembered always.


Alone I sit and watch the world,
as it passes quickly by.
I long to have a love to hold,
and to wipe my tears when I cry.

Someone to understand how I feel,
someone to hold me tight.
Someone to tell me she loves me,
and to comfort me throughout the night.

I need to know that as a man,
it is ok to cry.
I need to know that as a man,
I can be afraid to die.

Why must I always be so strong,
and never show my fear?
Why must I sit and pretend,
I don't care that the end may be near?

When I look into the distance,
