When people look into my eyes,
it is not me they see.
But a cover used to fool them,
and an act to hide my grief.

Yes I am the life of the party,
at least that's what they say.
And I am their rae of sunshine,
that brightens up their day.

But oh if they could only see,
the hurt that lurks within.
They wouldn't see the sunshine,
just something meek and grim.

But I can not tell a single sole,
the story of my past.
How would I ever face them?
For I'd feel like total trash.

So to stop them all from knowing,
and to make sure they do not see.
I keep my happy cover,
and I hide all signs of me.
