I agree with many points in this thread. I think that all the people that think they should be allowed to think and choose as they wish...should also do the same with Christians.....I have had this battle with every single person here. I am told what I believe is myth......hmmmm that to me doesn't seem to be letting me believe as I choose.... I am set in my beliefs but I also say anyone can believe what gets them through the day......."free will" says so.......I love all people but I don't love their sin....But I am also not that person so that is their gig not mine....And for no man to sin is a dellusion if they think that way....for all sin. If a Christian enters a room and tells all they are sinners....well shame on them. If I saw this as a Christian they would get a tongue lashing... In order for their to be sin it stems from right and wrong. Now of course if you don't want to look at the bad as sin.....I think that is perfectly fine. But for me I do look at bad as sin.....Now let's break this down a bit. If my phone rings and my youngest picks it up....And I say I am not here even though I am....Is that a sin....no....is it wrong....yes because it is showing my daughter that lying is ok. And some might say this type of "white" lie is ok.....for me no....It would be better and set the better example to answer and say you are busy and will call back. yes bad can comes in many forms and yes Christians hold themselves up to high standards...but also can be the biggest sinners because of the expectations placed on them. It doesn't matter if a sin hurts anyone a sin is a sin. And I agree babies are not born bad.....Jesus loves the children the most....Out of the mouths of babes. I do however believe that once a child knows right from wrong...they can choose to be bad or good. I also believe that when your a child of bad bad circumstances you grow up to do the same. I also believe in generational curses.....which I won't go into here...but maybe later. And I think you misunderstand original sin.....No one can sin until they know the difference between right and wrong....Take for example the kid that went and killed another lil boy for no other reason then to watch it happen...this was a huge case. He started off killing animals and it just escalated....Now he knew that it was wrong and he still did it anyway.....was this now bad or sinful behavior.....Both....because you never never take the life of another....sin...But I also think he was a classic case of his environment. It is no one job's to judge anyone. Only one Judge...and trust me that is no one here. I think the only major difference at least for me....Is when I sin...I know it instantly....it doesn't change that I sinned or maybe it does......Because I try to live as if I walk with Jesus and what would he do? Peace love & Bobby Sherman......gigglesnort Thank you for explaining your thoughts feral. I found this interesting and I was surprised that you didn't have the same things to say about sin as I have been faced with before. No, I don't think I do understand "original sin" I have heard different explanations for it and none of them seemed at all likely or reasonable. Peace and joy. Who is Bobby Sherman? |

A man and a woman are opposite polarities that attract like magnets. During sexual intercourse they exchange energy which climaxes into a huge exchange of energy called orgasm. Man needs the female energy and woman needs the male energy to balance each other. According to Taoist teachings (foot note: book “Taoist Secrets of Love, Cultivating Male Sexual Energy” by Mantak Chia and Michael Winn) a man has a limited amount of sexual energy and a woman has an unlimited amount of sexual energy. Woman can achieve multiple orgasms but in most cases man cannot. It means woman is far superior to man when it comes to sex. That would explain why in most cases men often fall asleep after intercourse and women seem to have enough energy to go for a jog around the block. On the other hand, women loose their sexual energy during menstruation, resulting in moodiness, and being emotional, or they may experience a change in their sexual desire at this time. It is not the act of ejaculating semen or discharging menstrual blood that makes us loose energy, but it is just the physical outcome of energy being moved out. To me this sexual imbalance is still an unsolved mystery. Since men and women are supposed to be equal opposites, which function in a perfect balance and harmony, then why the difference when it comes to sex and sexual energy? http://www.crystalhealings.com/Light%20Being%201-3.htm Hey Mirror- Im not sure how you got on this topic but I did find it interesting. I have not studied these aspects of Taoism and duality. However, I was curious. Under this theory how is it that males are able to achieve orgasm on their own or with other males? Where do they acquire the "female energy" needed? |

I'm sorry to hear it.
I will pray for her. Don't forget to breathe. Compromising your own health with high levels of stress won't help her. I hope they figure it out and find out how to control it. |

I have a copy of "The Secret" myself and I love it!
JB - "The Secret" have you read it? Personally, if someone reads it and can't see through it, they seriously lack critical thinking skills. But that's another topic. Abra is absolutely right. My son adored the X-men. In fact, one summer he took the screen out of his window and would sit on the garage roof. He told me a few years later, he really believed that humanity might evolve like the X-men had and that young people would be the first to show it. He decided his special skill would surely be that he could fly. Fortunately, in spite of what he wanted to believe, he never tried to fly off the roof. The point is, X-men is fantasy, Harry Potter is fantasy, only the Bible is taught as truth. Apparently war, murder, genocide and slavery is an acceptible thing to teach children, if that child believes God to be on thier side. But then again my son believed he could fly! I vote to ban the Bible and make every kid do a book report on Harry Potter. NO she's a vampire alien!!!! I would think you of all people would know that! That's only during the full moon though. I can't help it if some of my ancestors were raped by those bastard flesh eating reptilians. I'm a good vampire though. Like Angel and Moonlighter, I fight crime and evil vampires. But don't piss me off. I have split personalities. I can't control all of them. Oh sweetie don't worry- that's just PMS!!! |

Schools all but finished now! I have to wait until next spring to take my last class, microprocessors. I've checked with 3 other schools so I coulds get it sooner, but none offer it till the spring semester, but Im down to 6 credits left! Yay!!! I'm glad for you. I hated those classes only offered in the spring or I had one that was required but only offered every other spring. but now you're almost done!!! Good for you. Thanks So how are you? I'm great!! But I feel bad hi-jacking redy's thread. Although I don't think she's likely to get much of a response. I think it's too broad of a question... plus many of the christians resent questions. My only minor glitch at the moment is that my fiance works most Friday and Saturday nights. But that just means I have more time to spend with you guys. Come by the "coffeehouse for humans" anytime you want to chat and I will see you if I'm here. We now return to our regularly scheduled program: The differences between christians. My opinion: Christians are people. Like any big group of people they cannot agree among themselves- that is why there are so many sects of the religion. So the differences are too numerous to mention. Fanta's definition #1 above seems a good review of the similarities which would seem to be easier to define!! Peace and joy. |

Religious debates over Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling stem largely from assertions that the Harry Potter novels contain occult or Satanic subtexts. This opposition comes from branches of Abrahamic religions, with some members of Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Orthodox Christians, in addition to Shia and Sunni Muslim faiths, arguing against the series. In the United States calls for the books to be banned from schools have led occasionally to widely publicised legal challenges, usually on the grounds that witchcraft is a government-recognised religion and that to allow the books to be held in public schools violates the separation of church and state. Religious opposition has also surfaced in other nations. The Orthodox churches of Greece and Bulgaria have campaigned against the series, and members of the Vatican hierarchy have voiced opposition. The books have been banned from private schools in the United Arab Emirates and criticised in the Iranian state-run press. Much of the criticism is from Christian groups, especially those of a fundamentalist tendency, who believe the series' alleged pagan imagery is dangerous to their children. So, if you have read the series, do you think it promotes Pagan religions If you are Pagan, do you think that HP series does the belief system credit. ... or is it just a yomping good yarn? Thanks Belushi. I needed that. "where do you get your religious beliefs from?" "I get mine from books of fiction intended for children" "oh yeah me too- mother goose is my spiritual guide" "oh totally. and cinderella, mickey mouse, and nancy drew are the foundations of my beliefs." That's all folks. |

Redykeulous I, truly, think you are bored. You are always here to debate. I don't feel I should have to defend my beliefs to you. I am probably just as bored as you to be writing this. well, actually I am just waiting for the charcoal to get hot. I am grilling chicken, ribs and fish. Yummy why does a question require a defense? a question begs an answer not a "defense". why do the christian who post here all seem to find questions to be attacks? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ummm.... grilled chicken sounds yummy. |

yup, a part time vocation indeed. Let me guess...... no one has ever insulted a believer yet, until this professor did? right? how many insults can be hurled? How many temptations and taunts can be hurled with impunity? seventy times seven? innumerable, is my guess. carry on defending the athiest. he is just one guy and oddly mistaken for being a stereotypical hater. Such assumptive retribution by the Marine is despicable, right? So much for fear. Doesn't the athiest have every right to exploit the believers? Why shouldn't he? He doesn't believe in God at all. Let him taunt, I say. Every day and all day. May his class be full and overflowing with likeminded students. I am sure the institutions of higher education wouldn't mind a bit as long as paying customers are treated with extracurricular and off topic tests of manners all in the name of fun. Yes, we should be tolerant of that, yes indeed. Wwe should all applaud his right to taunt anything. Who are we to judge his liberties? Who are we to even be offended by such ridicule? On the other hand..... It is absurd to taunt God that has given no indication of ever intervening in the life of any that chooses not to believe. God doesn't taunt or tempt any man, but men tempt and taunt God out of the same heart that accredits God with man's attributes. Yeah, right. get a clue. Maybe god was testing the marine by "taunting" him with the atheist. Maybe god was using the atheist as a tool to see if the marine would defend his faith without violence... Jesus never preached violence... although the old testament is certainly chock full of it... |

Q: Why do atheists have so much anger towards Christians? In the story the "christian" was physically violent towards the "atheist". How is that not a tremendous amount of anger? And the self-proclaimed "christians" here thought it was hilarious that the "other" was injured. That's a tremendous amount of anger towards atheists. Does that not answer your questions? Peace and joy. (if not then heres a hint: like attracts like. there is anger towards christians when they put out anger towards others. there is love towards christians who put out love towards others). |

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, 'God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am God. I'm still waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there silently. The other students were shocked, stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What the heck is the matter with you? Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly replied, 'God was too busy today protecting America’s soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So, He sent me.' In all my college course I never heard of a professor ever talking about his or her personal religious beliefs. I thought the story was kind of funny-albeit ridiculous which is part of what makes it funny. It never really happens... I think it's really weird that it mentions that the professor "is a member of the ACLU". The American Civil Liberties Union seeks to protect the constitution of the United States of American- the document that founded our country. Why would that ever be a negative? Loving the constitution is wrong? The constitution is the basis of our freedom. It's the only thing that seperates us from many other nations. It's what those soldiers are fighting for. Peace, joy and love for the constitution of the united states of america and all those who work to protect it. |
