Heres a list of things which i currently think are fantastic.

WEISS (Silvius Leopold) 'Sonatas for Lute Vol.1' (Naxos 8.553773)

PROKOFIEV 'Piano Concerto No.1 in D flat major Op.10' (Naxos 8.550566)

SMETANA 'Ma Vlast' (naxos 8.550931)

JAMES LABRIE (light melodic rock) 'Euphoria' from the album 'Static Impulse'. This was a piece of music i got included with my sony walkman MP3 player when i bought it. I like it so much i might buy the album.

Needless to say all these pieces of music are ace, but they are even better, when you listen to them on a walkman when you go to bed, after 8 pints of cider and a couple of spliffs.

After reviewing my recent posts and listening to 'Slayer' live, apart from'South of Heaven' and 'Angel Of Death' i now think that '213' from the album 'Divine intervention' is the best.

Have you heard 'Violin Concerto no.2, The American Four Seasons', by Philip Glass? I play this on my MP3 player when its just getting light in the morning. It has a really weird effect.

I strongly adsvise you aquire this piece of music if you have not already got it.

Sorry to hear of jeffs death.

I used to listen to Slayer when i was youger (i am now 40). I reckon the best thing they ever did was 'South Of Heaven', it's a thrash metal classic. I dont listen to much metal these days, as i have found i have gone of it as i have gone of it as i have got older. I much prefer classical and techno/trance classics.

Hi,

I'd just thought i'd let you all know of a brilliant 12 part british drama i have just finished watching, which has just recently been screened on BBC2 in the UK. It is called 'I Claudius'(BBC 1976) based on the novels 'I Claudius' and 'Claudius The God' by Robert Graves.

It is a no-holds barred account of the history of the Julio-Claudinian roman dynasty, and murder, poisonings and plots are a many.

This is tens times better than any soap opera, quality entertainment from the UK, including Derek Jacobi, Sian Phillips (of 'dune' fame, i think), Patrick Stewart (of 'star trek' fame) Brian Blessed, John Hurt, Christopher Biggins and many others.

The final episode (12) 'Old King Log' is a fantastic way to end the series.

But watch it from the begining!

Augustus and Claudius were my favourites. But Livia, Messalina, and Agripinella were such *******.

Make this a drama to watch before you die!

Work is for robots,
Not people.

Arbeit macht frei!

(This version was never published, but the original "Slogan" without the line'Arbeit mach frei', was published, in a uk based poetry and creative writing magazine called 'The Delinquent' issue 14. www.thedelinquent.co.uk. Any thoughts?)

The hearth light in the cellar,
Reveals the twisted forms,
Shadows of humans,
Caught in flickering holy book firelight,
In flickering blackness,
Crackling flame fire furnace,
The sweat drenched deformed,
Copulate sadistically in the heat,
In the dirt and straw of ages,
Amongst the hopeless prayers of the deranged,
Amongst **** and rats,
And the dead bodies of prophets,
****ed and tortured,
Discarded like septic rags,
No more to trouble man.

Summer heat unfolds,
Opulent flowers open,
Revealing screaming skulls,
Sweet scents masking death and decay,
Luscious scents masking pain,
A tormented heart,
Spat on by destiny,
Doom is the reward,
For those that truly love.

There is not a drug more useless than Heroin.

In the twilight of worlds,
It serves only,
As a money making enterprise,
For those with criminal power,
All the people are slaves,
To a nothingness,
That amounts to nothing,
Over and over again.

Come all you people,
To temple of LSD,
Where the bankers heads,
Roll on the floor like marbles,

We will have a new world,
Freedom, creativity, revolution,

The war on drugs has failed,
Let us start a new millenium from the year zero,
The heads of the system will be upheld on spikes,

Oh you boys and girls,
Come out of youre houses naked,
Onto the streets,
Singing and dancing,
To end the tyranny of lies,
To end the darkness of nights.
