And as for the religions independent from Christianity? The Greek
pantheon, the Roman gods, Shamanism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and so on? They
each came before Christianity or were completely isolated from them. How
do you explain that? Some of them don't even have gods, like Buddhism.

I believe the word you've each been struggling to find is Ichthys. The
ichthys came about in in the early Roman Empire (not to be confused with
the Holy Roman Empire), and was used as sort of a Christian symbol to
indicate that a meeting, congregation, et cetera was being held. This
was when Rome was still using Roman gods and so the Christians sought to
protect themselves. It may be confused with paganism because pagans
worship nature and using the fish as a symbol may have been confused
with worshipping actual fish, as though they were devine.

Yeah, Christianity is much better. The belief that a cosmic Jewish
zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you
symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as
your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is
present in humanity because a rib-woman by a talking snake to eat from a
magical tree… yeah, makes perfect sense.
