Raindrops down the window pane
Sound of thunder fills the air A storm of confusion in my head My heart is in despair Wind is howling the rain is heavy On and on it rages My soul to you was an open book You tore out all the pages By Don Zimmerman 1-14-15 I usually don't just sit down to write and brainstorm. My poems come from emotions that I feel. Almost all of my poems are short and are very similar to the emotions we feel as human beings. Alot of times our emotions are short lived, but, very intense. It seems that the more intense an emotion is the shorter it is. A person sometimes does things out of character because they are driven to action by an emotion an emotional response. |

My body reacts as you come into view
My brain scrambles at the thought of you I love your hair and the way that you walk My tongue gets so tied I can’t even talk We share no words or a single greeting You pass me by, the moments are fleeting You don’t know my name or even how I look But I learned more from you then any book For I went to that spot for several days in a row The days turned to months and you never did show I learned to act upon my hearts desires To seize every moment before it expires By Don Zimmerman 1/10/2015 |

The power of love
Can change a mind Reaching To the depth of soul Shades of darkness Fade to light Joy of spirit Takes hold A new life A seed that grows Changing of a season A heart that beats In perfect rhythm Full of love |

Bridge of Rope

I went on a journey to save my soul
For my life of sin had taken it's toll Over mountains and through thick woods I came upon a bridge of rope Stretching over the valley of darkness It would test my faith and hope The wind howled, the thunder roared As the bridge swayed to and fro I could hear the demons Laughing And taunting me from below My sin was heavy My guilt was strong Hope began to fade So on my knees I prayed to thee To give me strength and courage As rain fell down upon me And I thought my end was near I felt the touch of Jesus He told me not to fear |
