You ought to change your name to Right Said Chrissy and shave your head and wear leather pants.

I'm sorry Thoughtful but I don't understand. Do you have a problem with me?
Just a joke.happy

That's cool. You just seem to be annoyed with my posts. We all have our opinions.
Annoyed? Never thought of you as being annoying. Maybe a charlatan but not that.

Most of the matches and profiles that I select and look into are usually chicks where I live. The forum is kinda nationwide with people who most likely prefer someone in their area as well.

I guess what he is saying is that women make rash generalization about men being the same when it comes to like and dislikes about something. And he is pleading to the women in here that men are individuals and are not to be confused as being the same on likes and dislikes.

Title of this thread "Veterans for Peace" is a misleading one. It ought to be "Veterans for War."

Veterans for Peace is for likes of people such as MLK, Gandhi, and other advocators for non-violent causes.

If a mind want to communicate to another mind, then it must use a series of signs for in order for the other mind to understand the message.

Of course both of the minds have to have the similar upbringing on knowing what the signs are first, before any real communication can be served with a purpose.

That's just stating the obvious!
Just like it is impossible to read the mind of a foreigner... (or that of an animal)

But as long as both -- Receiver and Transmitter -- speak and think the same language, mind communication is quite possible!
Let's say that both speakers speak the same language, trained in the same schools together from early childhood to adulthood, and then say "dog" to each other. One person might say "what specific dog do you have in mind," and the other replies, "golden retriever." So, there you go. Mind communicated by another mind as long as the signs are precisely given so that one will have somewhat the exact picture as the other mind has thought of.

So there can't be mind reading without signs being presented.

What I was wondering...are there laws concerning a painting that was given to me a couple weeks ago by a Navajo student at school. This Navajo girl, (15 yrs. old) was only at our school about 2 months. The girl did the painting in art class. She and her siblings were taken away from their very alcoholic mother...mom's boyfriend was very abusive to this girl, she is now with a foster family. This girl was/is very fagilely emotional and took a very strong liking to me.

Anyway, she gave me a painting she did in school, personalized it, putting my name all over it. I was honored to accept it from her and proudly display it in our home office. The day before school got out, her case load teacher, (my co-worker), told me I have to return the painting...that it is Navajo tradition/culture. I told her that if I gave it back, it would devastate this girl, not to mention be disrespectful! The teacher asked me to find a way to 'break it' to this girl gently and return on Friday.

Friday morning I got into school early and went straight to a school counselor who knows the history of this Navajo girl. I told her what I was told concerning the painting. The counselor was very upset to hear of this and said she doesn't know of any such "law"...that this girl doesn't even know her Navajo culture. Counselor said if anyone says anything to me about it, to send them her way...she too felt I should keep the painting...that the girl thought so much of me to give it to me --- and it would be wrong/disrespectful, to give it back.

So later Friday morning the teacher asked what I was going to tell the girl...I told her, "I will tell her NOTHING, I am keeping it!" The teacher said, "I understand, but it's Navajo law Cindy!" I walked away. I almost think the teacher was jealous because I was given the painting and not her.

Could be jealousy. The only way you can find out is from the girl that gave you the painting.

When I read the thread's title, I knew it would only consist of some ill-informed biased opinions on what are supposed to be wasteful spending. Has anyone actually research on where the money is going to? I think not, and I don't care because when someone says "pork" then it is mostly a contemptuous remark against what they percieve is bad government planning by representatives who are doing what they naturally are supposed to be doing: that is keeping their fellow constituents working and creating jobs.

I smell obvious jackasses here.

I agree bu the purpose of this thread was designed to enlighten a few as to the hypocrisy of the Republican Party!
I was they who cried Pork after inserting their fair share!
As if they were guilt free.
There only purpose for doing so was a lame arse attack on a President who had only been in office for a month and an attempt to resuscitate their party from a weakening pulse!
They are dying and with no leadership are grasping at straws.
There's hypocrisy on both side of the party line. The word pork is a derisive way to place one's unfavorable opinion against another competitor who also want the same thing - Money.

 How do you know when to give up on a guy/girl?

When they suddenly develop an uncontrollable urge to try to change me into somebody else....which is pretty much inevitable....
That is like stabbing the dagger into the heart of the matter. Kinda strange from my last break-up. It was all about me trying to correct the wrong assumptions about who I am. Some women get so angry from a hurt, that they would go extreme length to hold a unfavorable picture about you that it is near impossible to alter it. And if she finally does give you another chance, it is probably because she made to choice to stop hating. Unfortunatly, in my case, she decided to push me away.

Not surprised about this. Don't care since the Warmongering Business is all about the money and the ability to test weapons on subjects for the reason to make it better.

The Bush Administrations policies did more harm to this country than most Americans can comprehend!
Can't be so sure about that. We don't know what will be the plurality of opinions in future history books.
