Nice teeth. Lol. I believe what you're saying here, actually. As unreal as it seems, i too, believe that "things" are being put in our food. A dr will tell you to eat fruit and veg (as always), yet even them are probably laced with crap. A good way to kill off a population just to save money. Gee. They can't take the blame, so instead the patient gets blamed. I tried a diet, and well, that had me in severe pain, and really bad stomach cramps. So that made me lose trust in healthy food. It's such a farce. Btw my grandad has diabetes. So the headline of this topic grabbed my attention.

I already know about all this. If I was rich, I'd be eating all organic products. Organic is expensive and because of that .. I personally don't have a choice. Though I eat organic whenever I can.

Organic foods actually help with my allergies. Just by eating Romaine Lettuce by Wild Harvest at least once a day ...has improved my allergies. I'm less itchy and less likely to break out.

If I wasn't such a food junkie, I would have ditched processed foods a long time ago but I find that very hard to do. I have however managed to stop eating fast food. McDonalds was my worst enemy. It's crazy how the additives in their food makes you go through withdrawl if you stop eating it. And I'll never go back.

I have not heard about this being a problem in pet food. What brand names of pet food?

We do still have a choice but those choices are either hard to find or more expensive.

well, from the title you might have an idea of where i am heading to..let me just elaborate a little..i think i'm speaking for most girls when i say we rather be called beautiful, smart, cute, pretty...(the list is endless) than SEXY! especially if you are just meeting the person for the first time.. why because, calling most girls sexy might mean to us that all your interests are sexual (which might or might not be so). so the next time you meet a girl, try calling her something nice other than sexy..smile2

I agree also!

I don't take any meds. Just the ones I started on Friday that the ER doc gave me. Nothing new in my little world, I don't take meds. I am eating the same things. I really don't like its anything in my environment. Believe me I have thought an thought bout possible causes. At first I thought it was my b/f at the time, when they first started it was right after we started to hang out but he is long gone an I'm still breaking out. I washed everything he touched and sat on so nothing could be left.

Can't wait to see what the doc thinks, so far the meds the ER doc gave me are working. But we will see how I am tomorrow, I get the hives real bad in the morning after a day of sweating (like today)

You might be allergic to your own sweat and have some issues with going out into the sun. I was told a long time ago that I am allergic to my own sweat. If my feet sweat too much I start out with a couple of hives on the bottom of my feet and because they itch so much they turn into blisters. I've learned to manage it over the years so now I don't have the problem anymore.

If it's very hot out or the sun is beating down on me, my arms will also break out into small hives. I am beginning to think I am somewhat allergic to the sun. But the reaction isn't alarming enough for me to seek help.

I am a fan of cold water. It brings my body temp down and helps with whatever allergy issue is bothering me. Also, if you have access to a pool .. swim often because I have noticed that I have no allergy problems while in the pool and for the whole day after swimming.

I found this intriguing. I went away for a week one summer to Wildwood, NJ. My allergies were NON EXISTENT down there. I didn't even want to leave. I'm still perplexed.

Hope you get this sorted out. I know how it feels to be driven crazy by your own body.

Anyone have chronic hives here? For the past 4 months I have been breaking out for no reason at all. Its not any type of bug bite, I have not changed to any new soaps. At first I took Benadryl with little relief so I changed it to Claritin, I took 20mg an was hive free from anywhere to 4 days to about 2 weeks. But now its not working anyone. I have been living in the bath tub taking oatmeal baths with little relief.

I get the hives on my feet top an bottom, calfs, thighs, hips, lower abdominal, upper arms an at times on my face like the hair line or around my lips. My breathing is always fine, I get a slight temp usually 99.8 to 100.3 but goes away by the end of the day. I'm not sure what I should do...go see a doc an get steriods, which I don't really want. I don't need to gain anymore weight. frustrated tears frustrated

Usually, when you have that, it's a reaction of your body to something because you are genetically predisposed. There may be things you were not allergic before, that you are now. It may be the preservative in the usual food you eat or an added ingredient to your usual bar of soap. What I did was to change my diet and tried to eat as many unprocessed foods as I can; organic, when it is available. It removed my itchiness, among other things.

I did something similar. I started to eat an organic salad once a day and that has seem to help me also. I was also eating organic fruits for a while too which also helped.

I do! Except mine are in the form of these red pimple like things that itch and cluster. I break out on my arms mostly and elbows.

I found out I was gettin them on my elbows because I am allergic to nickel. So not only did I have my belt buckle brand me on my lower stomach, but the button of my jean was a problem too. I found out nickel allergies can spread. So even though my allergy has to do with clothes I wear near my stomach, I was breaking out on my elbows. I obviously had to find a solution to clear things up.

I use Zyrtec because nothing else works as good. I had to switch my soaps, shampoos and everything else to everything Aveeno and earth friendly (like the 7th gen. products). See, your situation is what happened to me months ago. This suddenly started happening to me. I switched my laundry detergent, soaps, shampoos, etc to products without formaldehyde and harsh chemicals. It helped by 70%. Your body changes when it wants too. I would try the things i did because oatmeal baths never worked for me. A lot of people are allergic to formaldehyde and don't even know it. That type of chemical is found in a lot of every day things.

I stay away from air fresheners and such things as well potent candles. Everything I use hygiene wise is fragrance free and derm approved.

i've always been told to contact them by in person, by phone
etc. one week after you put in your application, resume or
interview. continue weekly until you hear from them.
seems your constant contact reminds them of your tenacity
in seeking employment with them.
good luck,,,

I have gotten every job I ever applied for.
Two reasons.
(1) Like Smokeybette says, the callback,
you to them, is crucial.

My first job, there were 500 applicants.
When interviewed I saw the employer was
pretty overwhelmed. No one would make
an impact.
I called him back the next day, offered to
help him sort though the applicants
He laughed, and back I went.
I sorted the applicants into 5 piles.
(1) The OVER-qualified (it was an entry
level position.)
(2) The UNDER-qualified (don't show up
for a job interview with no SS card#.)
(3) The grammar challenged in a communication
position, or illegible application.
(4) Those who wanted to know what the job
could do for them as opposed to vice-versa.
(5) MY application.
He laughed and laughed, gave me the job, told
me to make the others go away hahaha.

Point is, the call back separated me
from the herd.
I would find a way, before leaving, to get
that number to call.

The other thing, to get attention, is to
be personable. This is highly subjective.
But, good grooming, smiles, LISTENing, and a
steady gaze into their eyes can work.
Don't over yack, and being sympathetic to THEIR
position can be helpful.

I am with you on that. I used to be able to snag jobs like that. But the last 2 years have been very difficult. I have a real good long term work history with second jobs on top of ones i already had.

Since I have been actively seeking a new job for about 1.5 years now (with no luck) I thought to create a thread where everyone could post tips. I know I could sure use some tips on how to get some call backs. I must have a billion resumes floating out there in cyber land and I can't get a call back to save my life. What gives?

I know it can't be my resume. I have had several people critique it and was told my wording is beautiful. So, fellow Minglers, if anyone has any tips .. don't be shy!

Employers rarely even check their websites or email for resumes. Even when the only option is to apply online. Sites such as Monster.com CareerBuilder.com, etc. simply don't work. You'll get more spam/scams than actually job opps.

Your best bet is to try to talk in person with them or over the phone. Go to your local One Stop.

Yeah, but a lot of companies only have applications online. Such companies as Petsmart, Petco, Acme, Shoprite, etc. A lot of employers have done away with paper applications.

I don't have a problem with spending my weekends going from place to place to actually fill out those who still have paper applications but gas is so expensive.

What is a One Stop?

I think that there is just THAT much competition for jobs and it is even harder when a massive amount of people are applying online for the same position.

yes, I know but I am using careerbuilder, simplyhired, indeed, and so forth .. all of which employers request that you do not contact them by phone or in person. Or there is not enough info provided to even contact them by phone.

3 years for me. But I don't need the money.

The best tip is, to make your own buissness. That's what I'm doing right now! ^_^

I would love too. I did pet services for a long time and I was going to make that my business but recently the remains of my clientele have either moved out of state or lost their jobs. I have advertised myself but to no avail :(

I was thinking about walking into a staff agency but I'm not sure on that yet. I mean I have a job and I'm thankful for it but I also know what I want in life and what I want to do with my life. This job is certainly not going to help me with any of that. I want to better myself and I find that very difficult.

Good luck to you also.

A few years ago i got involved in a serious relationship with this guy. For whatever reason my cat was not too friendly to him (and he loves people especially those who like cats). So a few times a week when we went to sleep, the cat would creep to the end of the bed, disappear beneath the blankets and just claw the crap out the bottom of my ex's feet.

In my apartment in the bathroom there's a "secret" compartment in the wall. It's square, about 2.5 feet in length and held in with screws. When I first moved in, one of the screws up top came out. It had to be drilled back in. I don't own a drill and had to go to work so I left my ex home with the cat. When I came home, I was told I almost lost my cat to the inside of the wall. Don't you know the darn cat clawed away at the one corner (where the screw came loose) and got halfway inside the hole before my ex found him.

Upon further inspection, I found this hole drops down pretty far. To where who knows but I'm just glad my ex was there. Not only is the screw drilled back in (as best as can be) but it is also outlined with lots of masking tape. I'll be darned if I lose my cat to the hole that appears to go nowhere.

Well tks wolf. It is just my opinion from my experiences. God is great to hear a woman say I'm right! Lmao! Its been so long since I've heard it! Have you ever seen the movie " A Bronx Tale?". There's a scene saying how to know if you found a keeper. If I unlocked and opened the car door for you, by the time I closed it and walked around to the drivers side would you unlock the drivers side door?

Its a simple thing Daniel, but your chivalry shouldn't go w/o return.

You are welcome biggrin No I have never seen that movie but yes I would have the driver's side door unlocked for you by the time you went to open it ... it's like an instinct
