"Do not be deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, he shall also reap. Galations 6:7
Jim DeLoach tells the following story: "A little boy in a fit of anger shouted at his mother that he hated her. Then, perhaps fearing punishment, he ran to a steep cliff near their house and shouted into the valley, 'I hate you, I hate you!' Back from the valley came an echo, 'I hate you, I hate you!' "Startled at this, the boy ran into the house and told his mother that there was a mean little boy who lived in the valley who shouted at him, 'I hate you, I hate you!' "His mother took him back to the hillside and told him to shout, 'I love you, I love you!' "When he did, back came the reply, 'I love you, I love you!'" What we project is what we get back. We do reap what we sow. |

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received." I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.
Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them. "I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged fordelivery to Earth. Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed "How is it that there is no work going on here?" I asked. "So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that the asked for, very few send back acknowledgments ." "How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked. "Simple," the angel answered. Just say, "Thank you, Lord." "What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked. "If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world." If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy ." "And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity." " If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day ." "If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 700 million people in the world." "If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world ." "If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare ." "If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair." If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all. Have a good day, count your blessings! ATTN:Acknowledge Dept.: "Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it with." |

An elderly man lay dying in his bed. In death's agony, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite chocolate chip cookies wafting up the stairs. He gathered his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort forced himself down the stairs, gripping the railing with both hands. With labored breath, he leaned against the doorframe, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven: There, spread out on the kitchen table, were literally hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies. Was it heaven? Or was it merely one final act of heroic love from his devoted wife seeing to it that he left this world a happy man? Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself toward the table. His aged and withered hand made its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when his wife suddenly smacked it with a spatula. "Stay out of those," she said. "They're for the funeral." She's not the only person to save something for a funeral that should have been shared long before. It often seems a shame that flowers are sent at a funeral rather than beforehand when they could truly be enjoyed. Many of the comments made at a funeral reflect the realization that we didn't express our feelings adequately to those we love while they were alive: "What a wonderful friend she was. I never told her how much I appreciated what she meant to me!" "I hope he realizes how much I loved him!" If someone means something special to you, don't save it for the funeral. Share it with them now! "Therefore comfort one another and edify one another, just as you are doing" (I Thessalonians 5:11). |

Hi Renay, I'm in northeast Misssippi, not very far from Dothan. Unfortunatively, for me, I'm old enough to be your grandfather, but would like very much to be your friend.
We have freedom of speach here, that's true, but that freedom is limited...for instance if the 'debate' that you have witnessed here had gone a little farther, broke the rule...'do not attack the poster' then Mike , the policeman, would have banned the attackers. Many of us here are very proud of our country, very patriotic haveing fought to protect and preserve the freedoms we have and some have a hard time taking some of the criticism. It may sound impossible to you right now, but most of us here are friends wanting the best for this great country, we just disagree on what is best and methods of achieving that. May I suggest that you visit the rest of the JSH forums and make friends. It's easy to find good friends. Oh, you can see some very heated 'debates' on the religion forum also, so you might want to stay away from there for a while. Please stay around for a while...give us a chance. ![]() |
