I would be a history or English teacher. Or a librarian.

This reminds me, I would finally be the writer I want to be.

I throw away everything I write. So, I don't think I'd be a good writer.

I keep everything I write, might be a mental disorder...

I could see myself doing library work possibly but not as an English
teacher or in history though...

Yeah, out of the three, I'd have to pick librarian as my top choice. The problem with teaching any subject would be the students.

Years ago I was a mass transit bus driver, the problem with that job was the passengers!

I read, learn and often get enjoyment or frustration from these forums but rarely if ever have had an opinion changed.

Hard to improve on such near perfection. laugh

Well...it is to late for me to pursue it now but I would have made a wonderful doctor.

As for the job I have now it is the best in many ways that I have had in a long time. Don't hate going to work and that is a big improvement in my life. Would be better if I had any benefits...medical etc but still not to bad.

Hi and welcome! Best way to meet people here (in my opinion) is to jump into the forums, lots of great people there to have fun with, maybe make a few friends along the way too. Good luck and hope to see you in the forums.

Welcome. Jump into the forums, have some fun and see how it goes. Meeting someone special takes time here just like out there in the real world.

Like so many other things texting has it down sides too. I find it very disconcerting when friends/family are together but texting instead of talking. I have heard stories though when texting seems to break through the barrier between teens and parents, siblings who are fighting...I have also heard it said that if texting had come before phones we would all be calling like crazy.

Can we all just stop texting while driving!!!!

I'm still holding out!! No cell phones here!! I got one phone, it's attached to the wall, and that's all I need. I don't like the idea of people being able to "get a hold of me" 24/7.

I'm some what of a hold out too, I have a cell but don't know the number or how to use any of the features except to make a call, only charge it if I am traveling. I have two phones, one portable that I can't imagine being without, one by bed tethered to the wall, the ringer is blessedly broken so it can't wake me up with pesky calls from work on my days off.

When I was a kid we could dial 411 for the EXACT time and ??? for the weather...anyone remember that one?

Your profile says you are 34 years old, kind of young to need Viagra isn't it? Anyway I think it is a prescription. Good luck with or without the aid.

It sounds to me as if the question asks us to choose pitchfork or . Of course a nice mix of both would be best if the mix was correct for my taste...but to pick only one is tricky. If picking the pitchfork means abuse (drugs, physical, mental etc) a lack of financial responsibility, nasty to animals, children and his mother than I pick the . But if picking the pitchfork means cash for fun times, better drool passion for most tasks then I pick the pitchfork. If the pitchfork means the former I guess I'd choose the  but he better be ready for the pitchfork in me to B slap him once in a while just to turn down all that freakin' goodness and light. The saving grace of picking the  may be that he looks a little like he isn't sure where in the heck that halo came from! So yea, maybe an  who is genuinely surprised to be one.

I was really lucky we had 38yrs together had 6 healthy kids, but he's gone now and for awhile was set adrift but after being single I've had some good times but I miss having someone for my own

If you really want to meet someone special I hope you are doing things other than coming here. There are great people here and who knows, maybe your next Mr. Right but in my experience (limited) dating sites including this one are even more hit and miss than out in the real world. Come here to make friends, have some fun, get support and maybe meet "him" but also I think you need to be going and doing things where 'live' people are. Find something you enjoy for it's own sake, photography club, cooking group, gardening etc etc You will enjoy the activity and be putting yourself in a social setting which increases the chances of meeting someone special.

I lost my sweet hubby just a few days shy of 7 years ago, for me being single is fine 99.9% of the time. I don't miss the angst or emotional ups and downs of dating. I am glad I am not always on the lookout, I think that would be tedious and frustrating as heck. So since it seems you are actively seeking, I wish you the best and hope you find your next great love soon.

I am a single mom with a big heart and I am looking to find a man who is decent and loving any takers even just a date?

Hi, you've been here on Mingle almost a year yet have only 18 posts...come play much more often, post often, meet nice and funny people (sometimes one and the same, lol) and get your pretty self known. You might meet someone special but also might have some good fun while you look. Good luck and hope to see you in the forums.

Our Gated retirement community has a catered Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimings that Saturday before. At Twelve O'clock We start rolling through the complex "Sounding the Horns of Plenty to signal people to put out bags of Grocerys with an attached flyer we have passed out early in the month. It helps people remember and if they "forget" they can always bring down a few cans to the dinner at 5pm.

We usually have to make two passes through the park shouting "God Bless/Thank You" as we fill to the brim at least one full size pick up if not more. A thousand pound donation or more each year as some actually collect a can or two each month over the whole year shopping with coupons.

We even recieve canned pet food for one of the women's shelters that allows homeless children to kennel a beloved pet until temporary foster homes can be arranged and parents can find houseing that allows pets.

The flyer is a Black & White (to be colored) page most have Grandchildren or extreamly homebound Elderly decorate that we use for a drawing of a small value gift card. If neighbors want to they can use their own house number or that of a neighbor who might be "struggleing" but we draw from the pages turned back and then display them for the rest of the month.

Everyone gets a big bang out of it! Many have their pictures taken by the accomplishment of frail and disabled seniors who remember the hard times and still are generous even though many are on fixed incomes.

Then we download the smileing happy Holiday greeting to Emails to family and friends. Many of our Seniors do not use or understand computers but their families welcome the annual pictures as treasures.

This is fabulous, just fabulous. There are people doing good and generous work all over out there. It does make a difference in people's lives, both the givers and the relievers. I am just happy to be a small part of a good group again. Nice to get out of my shell after so long.
