If you were not at the job you currently have, what profession would you be pursuing?

Well...it is to late for me to pursue it now but I would have made a wonderful doctor.
As for the job I have now it is the best in many ways that I have had in a long time. Don't hate going to work and that is a big improvement in my life. Would be better if I had any benefits...medical etc but still not to bad. |

I would be a history or English teacher. Or a librarian.

I would be a history or English teacher. Or a librarian. I could see myself doing library work possibly but not as an English teacher or in history though... |

I would be a history or English teacher. Or a librarian. This reminds me, I would finally be the writer I want to be. |

I am currently happy with the profession that I am in, working with developmentaly disabled people, the second profession I am curious about is a long haul truck driver, been curious about that for years, those big rigs fascinate me.

Years ago I was a mass transit bus driver, the problem with that job was the passengers! |

If i didn't work here, i would go back to my profession, which is an electrical superintendent. That pretty much died along with any construction in the southern states 4 years ago.

If I could do whatever I wanted and make a decent living, I'd become a musician.

If I could do whatever I wanted and make a decent living, I'd become a musician. that's too easy - if you say that a decent living would be assured! what if the music route was not a certainty? |

LOLOLOL Kidding aside, what type of Dr do you think you would have been best as? I think I would have enjoyed bringing people into the world but best at helping them leave. |

I actually do a lot of detailed work sometimes using a microscope
which requires very steady hands. I could have been a surgeon. I like to fix things and also have a strong desire to help people. I also like puzzles so that any diagnostic specialty could have been a possibility for me. But to tell you the truth it is very emotionally draining for me to have to deal with death and dying of others. I think the hardest situation for me would have been something like oncology or neurosurgery where many patients have catastrophic illness and a very poor prognosis. Perhaps cosmetic surgery would have been better for me?! |

Perhaps cosmetic surgery would have been better for me?! For (most of) these reasons, the medicine I would have been best at, helping people leave this life, would also have been the hardest and most draining. Great success, early burnout and then perhaps onto my life as a writer. |
