Just a silly question here. If all the big women are as happy with themselves as they claim to be, why does a big woman always start these threads *****ing about how they are manhandled by the world for being big?

omg...I just asked someone that same question in email.

my point is why the heavier vs the skinnier?

these threads can be a real beat down

Rose where are you seeing this competition you are referring to? I am not seeing that in this thread.

I was generalizing since everyone else does. The typical bbw thread is started by a bigger woman complaining about being blown off by someone because they are big

Just wonder how everyone feels about weight, skin and bones, slim, medium, few extra pounds, 50 pounds, it is of great importantance in creating a relationship.

is one of the things I was referring to. I know why lindyy posted it...it was moved from the current events forum. I know she wasn't meaning it in that way but more about the media.

It depends on the person, I think I'm cute for my size and I would only change it for health reasons. And as for what I look for I want a bigger guy there better that way

Of course thier are people who are irresponsable & not healthy. I have friends I would like to see lose weight for thier health, as well as some that should quit smoking & drinking .But drug users & alcoholics are socailly more acceptable than fat chicks!

I smoke, and I aacept responsibility for my smoking, and it's efects. I don't start threads whining about how I am not accepted in a eating establishment with my cigs. I do not complain in threads about how I have to stand 50 feet from a business entry way while smoking, nor about the women who will not date me because of the smoke. Smoking is a choice that I made, as the MAJORITY of big people choose a lifestyle that creates their situation. The bottom line is it is personal choice. Big people attacking thinner people, bigger people attacking thinner people, smokers v. non-smokers, the story goes on and on. Whatever your personal choices are do not play a vicitm, take responsibility for the decisions YOU make that create your situation. You must also accept that not everyone is going to like you, appreciate you, or respect you for living our life the way you see fit OR a multitude of other reasons. Life goes on, ignore it, deal with it, laugh about it, cuss about it, bury it or wear it. Life goes on

I agree with this Rob. I hope you do not see me as a whiner. I am trying to help people feel better about themselves, but not at any one else's expense.
not at all hen. I just quoted you because of the smoking part. I have NEVER seen you start one of these threads. I think you bring valid points into the discussion, and have actually made me rethink some of my positions. I always know that you and hiker will add life to a thread laugh laugh . I also hope that you do not see me as a hater, because I am not. I would just like for people to understand that personal preference in ones dating life doesn't always equate to hate, and those who are rejected levying some of the rhetoric they do on the rejector makes them more spiteful than the other indvidual. Preference is not hate, it is personal choice.

Rob! I think I love you!

She was referring to the whole culture of obcession with body types I believe,& asking why it's a big deal. She certainly didn't single out anyone. I don't want to speak for her, this is my interpretation.

and I didn't take it that way or saying anything but what it goes into. I know she posted it for a current event topic. but there are several posts about skinny peoples ribs and other comments that turn this into larger vs smaller

My opinion on the whole matter is "Your only worth to others what You are worth to yourself"............weight has nothing to do with that

hikerchick's photo

weight is very important in a relationship. Without any weight, one would just float off into space because gravity would have no effect. All the prospective dates I have must have no weight, because, they just vanish. Either that, or the aliens get them.grumble

Now I love you, Willy!

I havn't seen any "skinny" vs "fat" war. I got involved with a guy looking for "nice" who stated on his profile no overweight women & had a bunch of half naked chicks with stripper names on his friends list. & I did rag on him a bit about it. there were several perfectly nice ladies on the thread & he was ignoring us. Rose you were there from the start & I am certainly sorry I offended you, I have appoligiged reapeatly, but I never intended to be agaist any sized woman. I just wanted that man to admit he didn't want "nice" but a sexual fantasy.
