Well, if it works & you feel good, that's ok but that isn't much to fuel your body with. |

there are deeper issues than weight for eating disorders. the younger ones might be doing it as a fad thing but probably won't go farther than that I hope that's true for my daughter..I don't know enough about the disorder..I thought it started younger than 18..she never had a problem before..she always ate well..salad, fruit, chicken, etc. it can start at any age....and i will bet money that the true disorders have a deeper reason and the weight issue is more of a how to deal with it. it is no different than alcoholism or drug addiction now I am really scared. don't be...read the email |

Hi Lindy, not sure that it's enjoyable, but we are learning. I am Hypothyroid also glad someone knows what it is like. Most of my hair fell out after my daughter was born, I was very depressed & lost alot of weight fast. Then it reversed & I started gaining in spurts with each monthly cycle. I wouls stuggle to lose seesaw & feel so fat & ugly I didn't want to leave the house. I got up to 240. It was 15 years before I was diagnosed. I still can't seem to break 200.

hmmmmmm at least now I understand Momans view. His wife loved icecream more than him & he's taking it out on us. I don't know what to say Moman, I don't like seeing anyone that unhappy. You can't hate us all because of her. |

Worst part was that someone suggested a thyroid test & my dr said it wasn't nessasary, I was just making excuses & needed to eat less! I was so upset I didn't see a dr. for 5 more years.

Oh, thyroid can really be a problem, especially if your doctor does not know what he is doing. The first doctor to treat me had my medicine so high I thought I was going to have a heart attack and I still kept gaining! Too much thyroid medicine not only overworks your other organs, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, but it also stops your body from forming its on TSH, thus I keept gaining and felt like I was going to have a heart attack. Changed doctors and she about had a heart attack when she saw the doseage I was getting! Took a year of blood tests and lowering the doesage bit by bit till now I am fine! Except that it is so easy to gain weight. I had to stop all cookies, fast foods, cheese, peanutbutter, all the foods that really put the weight on. Once in a while I treat myself. Lindyy |

I wonder about the hormone. It seems to work for a while, then my body must adjust to it. Lab work was 400.00 last time!

Once again I think this got way out of context over insecurities and personal issues. You can't really change someones preference by force or demand. You may be able to influence but you can't force freewill. To try and force someone to like lemons when they really don't like the taste of lemons makes little sense. And becoming defensive over someones preferences makes even less sense. It is another tough issue. If anything being compassionate and apathetic can help. But I can't change what I don't like or what I do like easily. But people change constantly and grow. Everyone should keep an open mind. Right?

i think in terms of physical attraction, weight can certainly play an important role (although more important to some than others). Peoples tastes differ as well, but as far as your question goes, i think its safe to say the overwhelming majority of guys don't like the anorexic/food deprived/skeleton look. guys like some curves. and as someone else here has pointed out, weight shouldnt be the defining characteristic of any person We all have personal preferences, I certain do not expect a person to ignore that. No one should feel the need to apoligze if they are not attractted to you. By the same logic, we ahould not feel the need to apoligize for not being attractive to you either. |
