A man i met on here is coming down to visit me and I have never met anyone from over the internet before and i just dont know what to expect as far as if people are really who they say they are and if as im sure it is a little weird at first so if anyone can help or share their experience's would be great!

You should meet in a public place or with someone else nearby like onna your friends.

make sure its in public, feel him out and look for any red flags, and dont do anything you stand a chance of regretting later on your first couple of meetings!

It would be a good idea to also let someone know that you're meeting someone, what time and where you're meeting him, just in case something happens.

I've met many from the internet (when I lived in FL.) However, regardless of then or now.. I prefer to communicate via email, IM as well as phone conversations at some point.. but I have only met a couple people without first seeing them on a Web Cam. You might want to see if he has one.. just a thought

I'm sure everything will be just fine. I've met several men after talking with them online. I follow 4 sinple rules


1. We meet in a public place
2, I always have my cell phone on me..if your really nervous arrange for a friend to call you half an hour or so after your sechdualed to meet him,this gives you an excuse to leave.

3. My friends and or family know where I'm going to be, when I'm due to be home.

4. Relax and try to have fun

I met my guy at a pretty crowded bar close to his house and very far away from mine. It's always important to drive yourself and not take him to anywhere you frequent, just in case he gives you the creeps.

I've met people from online..not from this site tho..Some were good experiences..one that I will never forget tho..was this "guy" that I meet in a chatroom..um..turned out to not be a guy..luckily I found that out before any type of meeting was set up..lol

Okay. This is how my experience went. The girl I am currently seeing and I live about 6 hours away. We saw each other on web cam, talked alot on the phone, through IM on myspace and the like, and emails, and we discussed how things would work when we met.

So, I drive there and I get a hotel room. First night we met, she came to my hotel room so we could actually meet, then we went and walked down to the beach at the boardwalk, which is very public, hung out there for a bit, and then called it an evening. Next night, I picked her up at her place (she was comfortable with this) and we went out to her best friends place (he was having a party) and I met her friends and all before we went out to a club. We had dinner before that too (lol).

Basically, we made sure we were in public places. We both made sure we were comfortable with each choice. Communication is key when you first meet someone. I have read lots of good advice, so just take all of it and you will do fine.

Ive met numerous people from the net!! Ive had all great experiences though some were not exactly how I imagined them to be. But with an open mind, Ive made some great friends all over the world!!!!

like someone said...public place. There are some great people on the net...but some wackos as well. Better to be safe than sorry. also, a public place helps with distractions if you don't know what to talk about or if it's not going all that well
