Do you think people whom play D&D are loosers/pathetic because they sit around playing a fantasy game on paper and not on a computer?
Do you think they are a bit creative for being able to create intricate story lines and characters out of thin air?

What are your views on D&D and the people whom play the game?

My D&D Group (which hasn't gotten together in a few months now) always felt it was a GOOD excuse to get away from family, have a few beers, some junk food, crack a few ronchy jokes and have a good time laugh laugh laugh drinker Was a Party masked as a game. drinker

The only people who rag on D&D are those who never tried it. The game is great for building social skills not to mention math, reading, and building on that other side of the brain (imagination/creativity.) The paper game is better than the computer version in a lot of ways though. Most of the computer versions are too linear.

I dont know how to play, but I do have some friends who do. I understand the concept, and I would like to play, but I dont have the time to right now. I think it's a healthy way of getting out. -no drugs-no drinking-nothing bad.flowerforyou

I love to play D&D. I have been doing it for years, and like you said, its a great way to unwind. Having said that though, I know plenty of people that take the game way to seriously (first hint, its a game...) and are the type that all our stereotypes come from. Word to the wise, dont expect to find normal, sane people playing DnD at a comic shop, it just doesnt happen.

i think d&d is great, although i have never played the game, i've seen the cards of that, and magic, and thought they were intricate and beautifully done, i just don't have the time to devote to that, or the patience, so i make coffee shops for you to go play in....play on!!!!!

I have been playing D & D since 1978 and I love the game. I don't play much anymore. I changed to the RPG MMO online and had a guild of about 110 characters. I now have no time to play and wish I did.
It is a nice feeling to use as an escapism. It also takes us back to are heritage with swordplay and other antiquated weapons. Plus, the thought of engaging fanciful and mythical beings tends to draw those with creative and imaginative minds.
I have mostly mythical creatures tattoed on my body. I for sure can relate and I think if you have the time and don't neglect real life or take the game to serious that it is great.

happy happy happy

About 90% of my friends play twice a week. I understand most of it and have seen them play some. It's a little too complicated for me, but I can see the attraction in it. I have no beef with D&Ders. happy

I used to play magic too. That game does get frustrating at times with all the various rule changes and different card sets that come into play.

I've played D&D for years, if I'm a loser because of it no one has ever told me so.

I like to do strange characters like my Atheist Cleric (Yes, he gets no spells) and My Bard of the Gong! (what other Bard instrument can give you 2/3rds cover bonus?)
