Beer is what is known as a "Diuretic" from the latin diurese which means to pee pee. The technical definition is a substance that increases the flow of urine from the body. Other Diuretic beverages that give you the same effect as beer are coffee, tea, and other drinks with alcohol. The alcohol in beer causes the kidneys and liver to work overtime to filter out all the carbons and seperate the water from the alcohol causing your bladder to feel an increased elasticity which in turn triggers your nervous system giving it the sensation of a fuller bladder, making you WANT to pee.

Some times i feel it's better to just stand over the toilet as i drink

haha I know, I had to go pee so bad at this bbq for work cuz of the vodka drinks, and there were no bathrooms! I went home early needless to say!
