I never got them (including his dryer lint paintings lol)

but what he told me once is that any reaction is good to an artist. even negative because that meant they thought about the piece

I THINK THAT IT COULD BE BRILLANT AS WELL AS BREATH TAKEING IT DEPENDS ON HOW A PERSON VIEWS ART
ART IS A BEAUTIFUL THING IN MANY WAYS FROM PAINT TO METAL TO STONE TO CLAY ITS ONE OF THE GREAT AND INTERESTING THINGS THAT ARE IN OUR COUNTRY BUT THATS JUST MY VIEW OF ART IN MANY WAYS IT IS DONE

abstract art is more than just splattered paint...it involves shapes and colours...its more about feelings and emotions

Took some art history/appreciation in college and haven't been able to tap in to the drawing/painting/sculpting ability we ALL are "supposed" to have, yet.

That leaves me with just about enough knowledge of technique, symbolism, and cultural relevance to put my foot in my mouth.

So to the broader "What is art" question............

Every piece of signed artwork in my house is contemporary abstract however I only believe one to be brilliant out of many pieces including a metal sculpture ... but everyone who visits like the decor in my home. It is uniquely my own style of decorating.
