What'd we get? Let me count the ways

1. Control of the WMD problem. Not the whole problem, but at least some of them. I know what the media said. They were wrong. The stuff was there and more is there, still hidden, some moved.

2. A base of operations in the Middle East. If we end up having to go into Iran, we're that much closer. Without American national security all the rest of it doesn't mean a hill of beans. That means defending Israel, that means preventing a WMD strike on Europe, that means preventing a WMD strike on us. We're there. We can do it.

3. See above for incredibly good list of school building and military development.

4. Potential to rebuild Iraqui power infrastructure and industry. Needs to be accelerated.

5. Real time development of combat technology, methodology and equipment.

6. Real time improvement in medical techniques, services and facilities.

7. Ability to reach the Middle East with example of American technology, freedom, law, religion, ethics and what have you.

8. Dmonstration to the world that we find our problems, i.e. Abu Ghraib, etc., investigate those problems and take steps to fix them.

9. Emnity of left-wingers everywhere.

10. Nice cannon fodder for Rush Limbaugh and friends.

11. Walking example why some in our government are soft on security and wrong, wrong wrong!

God bless our servicemembers and those working to support them. God Bless our nation's leaders. My prayers are always with them.

If we stay the course and Iraq elects a decent government and makes progress, we will prevail. If we don't, I forsee a marked increase in terrorist attacks in the Mideast, Asia, Europe and eventually, even in the US. We'll see a marked erosion of our personal freedoms, the necessity of some extreme economic and perhaps political measures, a marked decline in our economic fortunes and, perhaps, attacks which make 9/11 look miniscule.

We face some momentous choices during this election cycle. I pray that my fellow voters are wise enough to know that security will trump just about any other concern out there and that chosing wisely on security will enhance our economic and social well being at the same time.

Hey Doc...glad youre still alive...
um about the voting...I wasnt allowed to vote in YOUR country..I have to vote in mine, its the law...thats why we have a 98% voter turn out.

What utterly amazes me is still with at least three soldiers dancing in this thread some of you would have the "Audacity" to tell us and others what we know to be true because we live it and see it, that we are liars and propagandizers.

When in the midst of maddness.. the path of insanity is oftentimes the sanest choice to make...
Im sure YOU believe you are doing right, how else could you tolerate getting shot at and living each moment as if it were going to be your last??? Hey it aint no John Wayne movie where you're at...and even as a foreigner who really has no reason to give a $hit about you...I do.. Im a mom with an American born son, who did his time in the service up till a year ago..
You people should be home,...where you belong.
