How much do you tell about yourself? How much is to much?Let's just say that you might have a checked past.Do you tell the person that you want to have a relationship with or do you keep your mouth shut. What if someone from your past, told him.

That is your past and not your future.
I wouldn't blurt it out right away. I would tell someone when you trust them with your feelings. It is not the place of someone from your past to tell him before you did and it would suck if they did. |

True intimacy requires complete honesty and no healthy relationship can live without intimacy.

I just like to lay all the drama out on the table for them right away. Makes it easier to get away faster. Course it's nigh on impossible to squirm out of if for some reason they decide they're okay with that.

No secrets allowed in a good relationship. Anyone who can't understand a checkered past may not be open-minded and end up not being the right person for you. Often times, I find that the most interesting people have had checkered, striped, and polkadotted pasts.

WHY ASK WHY? Cause if someone else told him,he would wonder why you didn't tell him yourself and could he really trust you.

The amount of information I give out is relative to the amount of info SHE gives out. You'll only get yourself into trouble if you let out every little detail of your life. That is unless the other person asks, that is- then it's okay. |

I agree.. if you ask any given someone what is the most important thing in a realationship is? its trust or honesty.. they go hand in hand.. and you cant have one without the other.. cuz sooner or later without one there will be no other. PERIOD! no matter which one is missing to begin with. |

There is no reason to tell everything.. If you live in a small town maybe they'll find out things.. but really, before you met them is YOUR life and YOU share what you're comfortable with and don't share what you're not comfortable with and if they can't understand that then they have their own issues, which personally I don't have the inclination to deal with...
